Why are people going so much für the Farsports Evo series right now? It seems they cost like 60% more than the Wheelsfar equivalent...

Hi All,

I pulled the trigger on a set of 58mm Hypers (24INT 30EXT) on the RD270 hubs in a gloss finish, during the sale. $950 in clouding shipping is such good value! I will report back once they arrive.

Not sure what tyres to put on these… any feedback on the new Continental Aero 111? They claim to assist with cross wind stability.

Care to share a link? I'd like to take a look at them...
The config does not seem to be on the website? Why did you choose the hyper rims.inszead of the standard ones (which the rd270 could be configurated)

Anyone who's spoken to FS recently about the various hubs and their new T-head spokes know if they'll be offering them with a NonPlus hub (dedicated carbon spoke hub)?

Also, any hint whatsoever of wide EW and 24-25mm IW rims on the horizon? They're behind every other significant Chinese D2C rim brand.

Is a dedicated NonPus carbon spoke hub incoming or already available?

AFAIK one has been available for a while. One-K are using a derivative of it and have been for a while. Others are free to order versions suitable for their purposes. But brands tend to prefer to use Chinese ones for 1/6th of the cost.

From my personal perspective, having watched the Farsports factory tour and interview, I think they are a standalone great value wheelset. You can spec similar performance via Wheelsfar, but somewhere they are saving some money making those wheels. A small amount of that may be marketing budget, but remember they are all coming from the same place. I guess they are cheaper because they forgo some of the QC, missing some of the QC tolerances, use slightly cheaper layup methodology (the evo wheels use a more advanced layup, apparently) and may well be built by apprentice rather than master wheel builders.

I don't think Farsports simply take the same wheel and apply a significant markup with their own branding... but there may be a bit of that, sure.

Lower spoke count, their own in-house hubs, lighter rims in the evo version and, I assume, better aftersales support

Wheels Far has removed the Hyper build with the RD270 hubs and carbon spikes from the website in order to direct customers to their branded Far Sport wheels.

However you can still order them via email/WhatsApp. I ordered mine through Emma (she’s mentioned throughout this thread) via WhatsApp. She generated a sales order and sent it via email.

I pulled the trigger on a set of Evos5/6. Will report back when I receive them. These will replace CRW5060.

Interesting. Are you not happy with your CRW wheelset? Tyre retention? Optical reasons?

What's the difference between the Hyper Rims and the "standard carbon spoke" set they offer with the same hubs?
