I am looking for the 42|49 model in the EU. Does anyone know a store which might have it available?
My LBS said that Reserve wheels are available again in July/august.
I had an arranged call with one of the wheel experts from Reserve to decide between 42s and 52s. I also asked about the availability of the 42s in the EU and he said that the current delivery time is end of August. I think the 52s should be available now.
I think I am going to wait for the 42s to be available. I would rather have the lower weight which they offer compared to the 52|63 model which I think offers marginal aero gains. Extra 200g saved should give the bike much more agile and dynamic feeling when accelerating. Still haven't found a better wheelset optimized for 30mm tyres.

I'm also looking for 42|49, have you find any store which have them in stock?

No, back then when I checked the wheels were supposed to be available in the EU sometime in August/September. However, in the meantime I have decided do purchase Newmen Streem allround Vonoa wheels instead.

I'm actually was deciding between Newman 49|54 and Reserve 42|49.
Have you got a chance to ride Newman? How do they feel?

Not yet, I should receive them in less then 2 weeks, so I might be able to share some thoughts sometime in September. I placed a pre-order at the Sanvit store in Italy about a month ago.
What convinced me is that the Newmen wheels look much better on paper (price, weight and IMHO looks) and have a slightly higher profile which suits me more. You can build the Reserve wheels on DT Swiss hubs though which might be more reliable and easier to service in the long run. Not sure if it's worth the extra money though. One might also not like the fact that Newmen uses carbon spokes which might make the ride a bit more harsh. I will be using 30mm Continental tyres (32mm effective width on these rims), so they should give me plenty of comfort anyway.

I got a pair on my Merida Scultura (XXS).
With no excessive light-weight components, total weight is about 7530g, while the Reserve 52/63 with DT Swiss 240 is 1572g including tapes and valves on my scale.
I use Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR 30c, and they are actually measured as 33.2 mm front and 32.8 mm rear with 65 psi.
I hope that we will never have to use it, but Reserve provides very generous lifetime warranty and crash replacement.
So, I think it is a really important factor to consider.
I currently consider the new Reserve 34/37 TA to be my climbing wheels.
But it seems they are still not available anywhere in Japan for the moment
I once considered ordering a pair from the USA or EU, but it looked like they were sold out very soon, e.g., Mike's Bikes.

I've got 52|63 built up on Tactic hubs and they truly are an excellent wheelset. I was on the ENVE SES4.5 prior and although they were great wheels I could flex them more easily than I was comfortable with. After a really good experience with the 40|44 on my Open I got the 52|63 and I couldn't be happier.
@apaz woould you mind sharing who built your Reserve 52/63 + Tactic wheelset? I am in the market for the same

Fair Wheel built my set and have since built me a set of 77/88 on DT240s for my TT bike. Both sets are outstanding and the builds have been 100% trouble-free.

Riding already 52/63 reserves with tactic hubs for a year. 1450gr including tape
Fastest wheels I have. I also have a set dukes Baccara x with tactic 1290gr and I still prefer the reserves. They are super stable in gusty winds
Likely going to trade the dukes for the newer rx which are wider. Curious as how they behave on my new factor ostro

How do you feel about the weight difference between the duke and reserve?

Honestly ? Should test them on the same bike. Didn't do that.
But likely they spin up a bit faster as the rims are lighter. But what most people forget is that heavier wheels also hold their speed easier even uphill where more absolute weight is more important.
I ride those wheel in all condition mostly flat up till some short 15% local hills but still find them perfect
I ride 48/48 dukes (rim brake) with the same weight in Spain and never would consider something lower only wider.
Weight is maybe more relevant in cases where you do crit racing consistently stop and go. But in climbing for me personally it doesn't matter.
I will try them on the factor too. If they prove to give me the same feeling I will swap the dukes x to rx which are similar dimensions.
For me the way they hold speed and are balanced when riding in strong winds in winter next to river is what makes them my preferred set.
My average speed in z2 is between 32-34km/h which is respectable for a 52y old chap I think
Will try the dukes on the factor within a few weeks and swap them for the dukes and do a similar spin and see if I can find really some differences with regard to weight

I had a reserve 52/63 that came with my S5 with DT180 hubs. Ive rode them for several months. They are no doubt a very fast aero wheel.
Then i changed to the new C23 Bora WTO Ultra 60mm, and i wouldnt go back.
They are selling at almost the same price, but the bora just felt much better.
The good thing about the reserve that i really like is the very wide internal/external width. I used to run 30c tires on it, and it felt way faster than a 28c. I had many PRs on climbs and flats on the reserve 52/63 with a 30c then any other wheels ive tested including Enve 4.5s, Zipp 454 NSW etc.
The only downside that I personally experience about the Reserve 52/63 is that its not as snappy when it comes to acceleration. It requires much more effort to respond to attacks, bridge and going up short hills as compared to the Bora.

I've previously ridden rim WTO 45 C19 which were a fantastic wheelset. Currently on DT ERC 45 which are perfectly stable in just about everything, but just don't have that something special to them. Looking at going back to campy with WTO Ultra 60 C23, they'll drop 150g so not worried about snappiness & acceleration, but how do you find it in crosswinds? Not too worried at 90kg and them having a VU profile, but haven't seen any comments on this.
