Would you like to share the link to this particular set of wheels you chose? There are so many options…
https://www.wheelsfar.com/carbon-spokes ... p0182.html
Option: FSD40CM-30T-HL
Is there a reason you did not went with the 20/24h stiffer version?
Why even would you take em? I am torn inbetween these two...
Do you mean 20 spokes front and 24 spokes rear?
I think it is not on their site as standard, but can probably get them if you ask them. In that case you will not get RD270 but RD360, which is by itself about 80-90g heavier. I also have Wave 35/30 wheels, 26int./32ext., with 24/24 carbon spkes and RD360. And are also superb. But a bit heavier at around 1.260g.

Or you choose DTSwiss hub. But I would not advise that, as the standard 240 hub is meant for sateel spokes and not carbon spokes. So the end of spokes is glued, and is greater chance for braking the spokes.

But I think that 20 spokes with carbon spokes on road is stiff enoughf. And you do not need extra stifness, as otherwise, you will need to compensate it with lower tyre pressure. On the Wave on the rear I have 30c tyre, which comes at 33,5mm, so is comfortable enoughf.

I found it quiet strange that DT Swiss doesnt market this new hub, nor do they sell a carbon spoke wheelset until now. Im sure it will come but strange. Also Farsports is the only company I find online who is sellilng DT Swiss carbon spoke hubs. Do they have this good of a reletionshipt that they let them sell those exclusively?

It is about 110-120g heavier, but the weight penalty is almost all in the hub (+100g). So the rotating weight is about the same as on my set, so is a good thing. These are new DTSwiss hubs (released a month or two ago), made specificly for carbon spokes. I mention before the original 240 hubs, that are best to avoid with carbon spokes, but these new hubs are made for carbon spokes.

The hubs are pretty heavy, but as said, you will not notice the differance when riding. And 24 spokes on the rear wheel will make the acceleration better.

EDIT: I now see that they have removed the options for wheels with 240 and 180 hub, as DTSwiss has now also hub for carbon spokes. Those options were still there few weeks ago.

DT Swiss is probably developing their own carbon spoke wheels. But we can be sure that is will be 2x or 3x the price of Farport carbon spoke wheels. :D

For sure. But why would they let a chinese company use their hubs before they even "release" them to the public officcially. Maybe I should ask them directly.

I do not know, but these hubs were already on cycling expos. I think ChinaCycling had a YouTube video, with also these hubs in it.
Maybe they just wanted to release new wheelset as a whole.

Hello guys,

Please help me to choose... !

I'm riding a scott foil rc dura ace di2 in 28mm tubeless tyres, i'm 62kg in good condition, traning 10-15 hours/week and racing every weekend.

I'm struggling between hyper 50 24/30 with DT180 (or RD270 ?!) or the carbon spokes model in 50mm depth and 24/30 but with witch hub ?! My last wheelset was roval CLX rapide II and was pretty happy with that.

I'm listening to the black inc 48/58 too but more expensive !

Thanks for help and advise.

Personally I'd go with the RD270 if I was going carbon spokes or DT Swiss if going steel spokes.

I have had three other wheelsets with DT240's and have been pretty happy with the RD270 hubs after 5,000km.
