53 for 180 cm seems all wrong on paper but the bike surely looks right. I’m 183, ride a 59 and my bike looks right too.

That's what I used to think too! I started off on 57cm frames (in the 1990s), then moved to 55 (in the 00s), and now 53 (and my stems have increased from 90 to 120-130mms).

The shop I go to now (which primarily services serious riders) told me that if my body can handle the drop, it's better to go for a smaller sized frame. Obviously I can't fully handle it since I have not slammed my stem!

Yes, with pedals (Speedplay Nanogram Zero).

See the thread here:

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=147429

Since posted, there are some changes to make it ~6.75kg, i.e. custom Berk Dila saddle (71g), narrower 3T Aeronova bars (188g @ 38cm), Dura-Ace cranks with power meter (actually heavier than 105 with Stages), Tubolito inner tubes (83g pair).

Another pink Bianchi. My Austin beater, a Pink Ultimate Single Speed. Only I've ruined it with an alfine for these hills.

Do the stack measurements take into account the headset cap on the XR4?
