Ax lightness 😊
Auch, thanks. That's bit off the budget. I'm looking for something cheaper.
I'm thinking about this:
https://ciclicorsa.com/shop/pmp-bike-sb ... -seatpost/ I can have it for around 100 euro. Real weight 185 g / 27,2mm / 400 mm. So not bad for the money and if I'am able to remove logos it could look very similar to yours!

Or do you have others recommendation to budget zero seatpost? 27,2mm (100 - 150 eur).. as black as possible or just some simple graphic

Btw. do you have more photos of your Izalco? Would love to see them!
Yah, the price is stiff, i just so happen to get one (used already) at half the price. Sure, will post here more pics this weekend.

Can anybody recommend a smaller and nice looking seatpost clamp for the Izalco max frame?

Currently waiting mine from Smud. There is a paint/carbon limit at the top of the seat tube and even when you strip down the paint, it stay. So ordered a 15mm one, exactly the size of this top band. The original one is around 17 or 18mm with the top edge, not useful.

I'm running a Tune seat post clamp.
11g and zero slippage.

Thanks for the details. Looks very very good! That drop you had looks quite insane. I'd love to slam my stem like that, but my back wouldn't carry that, haha. Izalcos are very agressive. Low stack and long reach. Even for a race bike - I haven checked the 52 size, but the stack and the reach in size 54 looks more like for an aero bike then the climbing bike (izalco: 537/390 .. venge for exapmle: 534/387). But then, there's almost a 3 cm differnce in stack in size 56. 565/398 which is comparable to other climbing frames. Dont know why there's such a big gap.

btw. sorry for the late reply about the seatpost. I managed to find the same AX lightness seatpost for half the price on ebay as well. But I didnt buy it in the end because I borrowed a cheap zero offset seatpost from a friend and been riding with it a little bit. I think the power transfare - espeacailly in the hills - is better with my current one. So I'm thinking more about ritchey superlogic now, since it has adjustable setback between 5 - 15 mm, which should be ideal.

..... Izalco is on the way to Focus factory in Germany, I am waiting for the outcome.
.....
Hi,

all the best for your claim! let us know, how focus handled the case!

regards,
O outcome, lost pedals at return (Look Keo Max), thats one aspect of it.

great outcome on other hand, I have repaired or patched it my self using a kit for reparing fishing rods.

1st I sanded off using mostly 150 paper around 1mm. The damage at the seatstay still visible.

Now I guess it was slammed with 10kg mallet with 0,8cm2 tip.

So I don't it think was anything else but manufacturing error.

Anyway 1st epoxy layer soon after mixing, too runny, so another after 1,5h now thicker, and then 1.5h later, single piece of cloth 2 rounds.

some fresh epoxy on top and

Tape around (translucent not sticky for epoxy) needle and I see epoxy coming out in small drops so enough of it.

24 hours later, remove tape and surprise

everything is flush, one layer of spray and as before.

There are many many variables in this process, but the position of the damage, tube itself being seatstay and many many others I feel safe 100%.

i did first couple of short rides (still without cover paint so that I can see if anything is going on) then 40km and the 85km with 800m up and down, bumpy pavement sometimes but no change at all, coin test (i don't have else) is "still" excellent.

So I will not buy from Derby anymore, but I like riding Izalco really a lot. 84cm seat height and 120mm stem on XXL.

I think it is the 1st bike I can sprint with without fear of hitting the handlebar with knees. (without having 150mm stem)

So happy with geometry so will buy an 61cm Felt FA for 2nd bike (and replace Canyon XXL Endurace frame with it) it is almost like Izalco XXL.

Cheers,

Hrvoje Marin
1500km later, all is fine, if sight is not perfect, can not be detected as repair and is far from perfect in finish sense. Looking for N+1 is really hard after MAX in XXL with Fulcrum Zero and 9000 Dura-ace.

Just bought 2 Izalco max frames..the 'old' one with rimbrakes in silver freestyle colors and the new aero one.
I just wanted something different and stylish. Will sell my Venge.

I hope one day Focus will be back in the pro peloton.

Nice! Will you share some photos with us? ...and are there any specifications of your builds already?
