Interesting - I'd be looking at pairing with some R9100 calipers so the caliper clearance shouldn't be much of an issue. Seems like it might be a case of suck it and see.

I ran both Ultegra 6800 and DA9000 on my Allez DSW. My recollection was that the DA calipers had a little more clearance.raisinberry777 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2024 2:20 amInteresting - I'd be looking at pairing with some R9100 calipers so the caliper clearance shouldn't be much of an issue. 28s will fit fine, I'm currently rebuilding an S-Works Allex 2015 and have 28s fitted on Roval CLX 32s (21mm internal width I believe) and there is still a good amount of clearance.raisinberry777 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2024 12:34 amAnyone know about 28mm tyre clearance on the 2013-2015 DSW model (the pre-Sprint version)? Currently looking at one second-hand and wondering what the biggest tyres it can handle are.
Build is finished, 6.7kgs ready to ride, I wasnt even aiming at a weenie build!!!jamin wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 6:33 pmAfter many years of wanting one, i finally scratched the itch and bought myself an Allez S-Works! it came with the Roval CLX 40s which I'll use until I can find a decent set of CLX32s. Groupset is Ultegra 6800 which will all be sold on, bike is already totally stripped, ready for my next restomod project - will probably go SRAM eTap and Alpinist route...

Spec is mostly SRAM Red eTap 12 speed, apart from the chainring which is from the Force series, as I preferred the black look to the silver. Other parts are S-Works saddle, bars and stem (managed to find a near new period correct one) along with Roval CLX 32's (rear wheel is brand new!) with Ti skewers and a Roval Alpinist seat post. A Ceramic speed (I went all in!) BB and Look Keo Carbon Ceramic Ti pedals completes the build.
Cant wait to ride this once the weather picks up. Be interesting to see how it rides with wider rims, tyres and TPU tubes compared to what I remember.

Hot damn - that's an extremely nice build! Great stuff. The black chainrings were a great choice. Hope it rides as good as it looks!
