Thanks for the kind words Jason, I am definitely a minimal or no logo guy. Can’t stand multiple random names on my bikes.

I used 248 Loctite (the stick form of 243) on the AB lockrings, thought it wise to follow manufacturers recommendations for once.

Not tried the saddle yet, it’s crap weather for a while here so will be a few months away, just getting the bike sorted for next season.

I really like the Alpitude saddle very comfortable. Next on the list for me are the seatpost, and Rapide Stelvio HS mount.

This bike is lovely, great work on the cranks especially Steve

Are you riding this bike through the british winters? I am debating wether to allow myself to ride my freshly built SL8 out in it and so far havent bought myself to do it.

Nice work - just picked up a gloss white pearl/dune s-works off eBay and hoping to have a 6.5kg build in time for the Dolomites in July. Inspired by your efforts Steve!

Some more bits:

Xcadey Gen 2 PM:

This saves 66.4g over my Quarq Dub Dfour (which will go on my spare spare bike)

How did your Xcadey purchase go and did you get it from xcadey.com?

I placed an order on the 24th and haven't received a confirmation, nor any response either via email or Instagram DMs. A bit worrying. I'll chargeback and go Sigeyi if I don't hear back by Friday.

Thanks for the kind words all

@Lee:
Nope, this bike is firmly used for good weather only, I have the Addict for winter/commuting, the S3 for Turbo, if not, I run.

The SL8 is so good that I always feel like I need a second winter bike with the non S-Works version with 105, but can’t really justify another bike yet!

@Jimmy, love the Gloss white version, put up a build thread when you start putting that together

@Michael

I ordered mine from https://xcadey.uk/. Didn’t get a tracking number and comms were basic, but it arrived a week later well packaged. I just love the looks of it.

Yeah, mine finally arrived on Thursday, also well packaged.

Where did you get your 8 Ti bolts for the spider from? I've seen Alugear, the ones I currently have don't feel that quality in terms of finishing, might round off. Also they're 8 grams for the set.

The bolts were from Ti Parts (https://tipartstitanium.com/products/ti ... ew-grade-5)

Expensive, but they look to be well made and fit as per OEM ones.

Finally got round to fitting the new cranks and saddle..

Shifting (in the stand) on the new rings was very very good, not tried the saddle in anger yet.

Do you hands down prefer your SL8 over your Scott Addict RC? They're both aesthetically awesome! Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words

Yes, the SL8 every time, it is the best bike I have ever ridden, the handling, acceleration, speed/feel is superb.

Don't get me wrong, the Addict is great, but not on the same level in my view, it may be the weight difference, it may be the wheels, but it just doesn't feel as fast. It might also be that the the SL8 is reserved for the better weather, and that's why I enjoy riding it more!
