Hello together, just ordered a s-works sl8. I owned favero pedals and looking for a lightweight and reliable crankset. Has anyone of you seen mounting the following crankset with Shimano 12 speed?

SRAM RED Kurbelgarnitur 11-fach standard - GXP

https://www.bike24.de/p1159736.html?sou ... sku=576604

I think weight should be around 550 gr versus DA 686 gr…??

So, just got my Hylix SL8 Seatpost (the SL version with the 95Kg Rider Weight Limit)

Stock Weight (for a 365mm Length) - 130.1g
Image

Important to note, the seatpost comes with an angled end and no DI2 holder hole, so I cut it flat to my required length (285mm) and added the hole.

Final weight is 115.3g - Saving 33.7g over my cut down stock seatpost.
Image

Other than that, it looks fairly stock:

The beauty of this post is the head can be in either a 15mm or Zero offset, depending on how the cradle is positioned.

Weightwise, it is, in this shortened version, within a few grams of the Darimo, at a third of the cost.

Total bike weight is now 6.22Kg

I have Conti TT Tires to put on, which should put it around the 6.18Kg mark
S-Works SL8 - 6.19Kg/13.71Ib
Cervelo S3 Disc - 6.78Kg/14.94Ib
Scott Addict RC - 6.92Kg/15.25Ib
OnOne - Free Ranger - 8.68Kg/19.1Ib
Scott CR1 - 5.69Kg/12.54Ib

Interesting! Do you have a side picture of the full bike with the 0mm offset?

How did you add the holes for the Di2 battery holder?
I might need a zero offset seatpost too. This could be a good alternative to the Specialized post.

It’s a 5mm Hole, use a good quality drill bit (carbide preferably) at high speed/low pressure. The hole is 15mm center to bottom of post. Use the Di2 holder as a guide for marking out. Take your time and it is straightforward. Oh and wear a mask, carbon dust is not good for you

Quick update on the Hylix Seatpost, for those interested.

Done about 300 miles on it over about 6 rides, it can be quite tricky to get it right in regards to torque, if you don't it can creak from the saddle clam, after a few attempts I went slightly above spec and also lightly sanded the sharp edges of the clamp, and it seems to have resolved itself.

Other than that, no slippage from the frame/post area, and it acts like every other seatpost. I am loving the more forward position from the zero offset too.

One thing, as I have used this Hylix brand post before on my Cervelo, which uses the same clamping system, the top part of the rail clamp was much better finished and lighter than the one supplied on the SL8 version, so I swapped them out, saving another 2.3g, making the seatpost exactly 113g.

A few updates:

Further to the seatpost changes I made above, I still had the occasional creak, (I can't have that!) so I switched over to J&L Yokes I had lying around for the top section, this has stopped all creaking and works like a dream. It also brings the overall seatpost weight down to 110.3g! Darimo-esque weight.

Image

I also got the Overfast Axle's:
Image
Front 15.1g

Image
Rear 17.4g

This resulted in a 19.1g saving over the stock ones, but more importantly, it's bling!

Lastly, got the EXS Bartape (not installed yet), which comes out at 30.4g for the full length, (so about 20ish for an Aero bar when cut down)
Image

Current Bike Weight is 6.19Kg..

Plan to get 165mm E1 Cranks and Xcadey PM for a 100g+ saving. (really want to try shorter cranks and love the look of the Xcadey also)

Some more bits:

Xcadey Gen 2 PM:
Image

This saves 66.4g over my Quarq Dub Dfour (which will go on my spare spare bike)

Also took the opportunity to get the new Xcadey CNC Chainring, which looks amazing..
Image

However, it is quite porky (138.3g)
Image

I do love the looks, but a 37.2g gain over the DA one is a bit of a conundrum

As part of a deal when buying the PM (in the UK anyway), I picked up the new mini e-pump from Xcadey, which was a bargain at £20 (normal price is £50)
Apparently it can do a 700x28 tyre to 70psi 3 times on one charge, taking 70 seconds to do so, will have to test it out

May I ask about the torque of the brake bolt caliper to attache them to the frame (not given in manual)? Did you use the manufacturer torque values from Shimano?

Few Updates:
• Finally got round to putting the TT tyres on (just in time for winter!) - I actually needed the original tyres to go onto my commute bike, hence the swap.
• Installed the Overfast Axles
• Changed to the right length bolts for the seatpost (Saving 0.6g, bringing the Hylix post down to 109.7g)
• Swapped the Front Mech hanger bolts to Ti (Saving a whopping 1g!)
Image
Image
• Put the Shimano K05TI-RX Pads (Saving 7.9g, more importantly, looks less cluttered without the fins)
Image

As I have made so many changes over the last few months, I thought I would post an updated Build List

Current weight is 6.19Kg:

How long did it take to recieve Overfast Axles? Do you feel any change in ride quality with them?
