I've been curious about that crankset, it looks really nice!

Nice build.

I've been on the china / aliexpress train for a while as well as cheap frames. Now I can't believe I was spending 10k-13k on a bike back in 2020. The money I could've saved.......
Better late than never.

So far so good on the crankset! I do like the looks. I wish they made 165mm but 170 isn't too bad.
I immediately sanded down the graphics on them. I should probably clearcoat and buff it to make it shiny again but meh. Looks good as is too.

Weeeeelp. I love some chinese products but this is not it.
Left crank started creaking like insane. Louder than any BB I've heard creak. But this was definitely the crank creaking (I'd stop pedaling with left and the creak would stop). I came home. Sure enough, the crank was split through where the pinch bolts are. I didn't overtorque it at all either.

I'll stick to Praxis cranks for cheap light options.

Curious why the Wolftooth Roadlink for a standard sized DA cassette? The RD with a normal B-link would be 5g lighter.

I throw a 11-34 in there for 100mi / 10000ft days

I'm also experimenting with higher cadence. Got a very tough hilly race coming up. May or may not go with the big cassette.
I'm comfortable between 88-105 cadence at threshold. I know it's a big gap. I used to have a hard time anything above 94. Felt like my heart was gonna explode.
I dunno what changed. It must be the excess carbs I started eating

I see. I’m totally with you there. The 11-34 was a game changer for me. By the way you can squeeze the 11-34 in there with the 9100 RD even though it isn’t supported officially by Shimano. I run that setup and it works well even with the big big combo (with a 50t)

I've done that years ago with an etap setup. I have no proof of this but I suspect running it like that eventually causes the rear derailleur hanger to fatigue and break off.
I've always ran enough chain length with that setup but it ended up braking the stock hanger in the end. twice!

Again might be a freak occurance. Just running the wolf tooth for piece of mind. This bike isn't really something I care to save single digit grams on :D
