Hi, I'm Scott! I spend most of my saddle time avoiding traffic with 48mm tires beneath a steel frame. I realized the Merckx was being neglected, so I built a wheelset (Nextie tubs to Enve hubs) and threw some plastic at the scandium. I kept the front Red brake on for stopping, and went with an old EE for the rear. Swapped the bars for Easton E100, the stem for an Extralite, and the seat post for a cut down MCFK since this photo was taken. Once I can get rid of that boat anchor Flite, I'll be happy. Maybe.
Anyone have a Gelu to sell cheap? 😉

5.95 kg without pedals/bottle cage.

You probably mean 28 mm tires ? Even that I wonder how they pass that tiny fork/front brake.
Love that classic Frame !!

Welcome and well done Scott! A bicycle at it best. Downtube shifters would make it an 11!

Nope, 48!
Nothing wider than 25s on the Merckx on wide-ish rims. But 48mm on the other road bike!
