2020 Specialized Works SL6 Rim Brake 11.1-Lbs—5.26k

My SL6 is finally done. There’s been lots of waiting, for $$ for parts as well as the parts themselves.

List of the all the stuff from the ground up.

Far sports 25mm tubular wheels
Berd spokes
Extra Lite Cyber SL hubs
Extra Lite Streeters Skewers
Continental Competition 25mm tires.

THM SE Power crankset.
Carbon Ti compact 50-34 chainrings
Wheels MFG BottomBracket
Absolute Black derailleur cage.
Carbonice Chain guard
KMC SL chain
Recon 11-25 cassette
Shimano Dura-Ace pedals

SWorks SL6 Frame
Carbone bottle cages
Carbon Ti bottle cage bolts
Cane Creek direct mount EE brakes with custom Gold bushings.
Jagwire cable & cable housing.
Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 11 speed group with double sprint shifters, on drops & tops.
Specialized Roubaix tape

Darimo T1 Loop seatpost
Darimo 1X2 stem
Darimo Ellipse bars
Darimo computer mount
Carbon Ti stem cap
MFCK 135 carbon saddle

For those who are courious, after a short ride once getting this all done.
I've swithed back to the dura-ace cassette. Recon-light but poor shifting just as people have stated.

That's one gorgeous build! How do you like the bottle cages? I'm still searching for a light set that holds my bottles well and is still sturdy enough for daily use.

Really INSANE build! I mean, the hollowcage may look nice, but with that small cassette and tiny derailleur it kinda looks weird :P A few spacers too many, but really insane and beautiful build!

Did you weigh the wheels and rims? I am guessing in the high 700 grams with this hubs and spokes, which is total bonkers

Thank you,
I love em, they hold really tight actually.
I got them from Dream bike. Think they run around 8 to 9 grams each

Thank you, its been a while and quite some work.

No problem at all, I work in a shop that sells Specialized.
I started this build spring of 2019 before the world turned left & went crazy.
Thats when I bought the frame knowing that Highend race bikes won't be coming with rim brakes anymore.

So the frame I got with my employee discount from specalized.
I also did and stay current with Shimano & there Technical education courses.
I completed all the courses and was able to get 75% off shimano parts.
We as a shop are dealers for Canecreek, being primaraliy a MTB shop.
I was albe to convince the shop owner to be dealers for Extra lite & darimo. Thanks to that I bought those
parts below retail as well.

The wheels, spokes, Crank, chainrings, saddle, bottle cages, & dreailuer cage are the parts I had to pay retail for.

I think this build in the retail price could easly be 15000
I Dont have an exact total, but my estimate is around 7-8000

Thank you,
Your correct about the wheels. Before tires & cassette the wheels came to 732 grames for the set.
Once I replaced the recon with the Dura-Ace it looks a bit better, shifts much more smooth.
I got the hollowcage to help keep the drivetrain as quite as possiable, It worked great. much more quite.

I wish I could go back at least one or two spacers less. However that is as low as I can go thanks to getting hit by a car on 2 different occasions.
L4-L5 in the back wont let me. :)

I bought the EL Toranado edition for my other bike cuz of the black & blue color design.
Those came with gold bushining that didnt match at all.
So I called up Cane Creek and talked to Rob & Erin about getting replacement parts/bushings.
I gave them the part numbers of what I needed and placed the order. Few days later they showed up.

When placing the order and talking to Erin on the phone she explaind to me how to take apart and reassemble eveything.
The process was very easy and didnt take any time at all. Think I did both brakes took about 15-20 min.

This is the El Tornado color design. One brake swaped out and the other with the original gold.
Went with the black and gold for some howetown pride. (Pittsburgh)

Was gonna keep the all black brakes and nicname the bike. SR-71

Dang, very nice build. I've taken the sl6 off my frame list as can't find a new one anywhere and I'm not interested in used carbon.
