It’s been a long time between new bikes. My last build was 8 years ago. 2014 Oltre XR2. She is still in use but will probably play second fiddle to my new bike.
The specs are as follows:
I didn’t get a chance to weigh the frame before my mechanic started the build but I have some weights if anyone is interested. I should have it finished by the end of next week as I am waiting on a few items to complete the build.
Here are a few pics.

I agree that it is a bit porky. I was trying to get it under 7kg with pedals, PM, bottle cages and Garmin mount. Not sure where else I could cut weight though.CustomMetal wrote:Beautiful! But disappointingly heavy...

IMO Nonsense...
7.33kg or 16.15 pounds is a great ready to ride weight for any bike but especially a disc brake bike
Not to mention you included Pedals, Power meter, bottle cages and Garmin Mount
Trust me I have been at it for decades & a little weight makes no "real" difference at all when you already are at numbers like these already
I have decades of logs to prove it on various weight bikes.
Not to mention many like myself train for 3-4 hours in areas with no stores water stops etc.
Even a full bottle of water is 850gr x 2
While I am not a fan of disc brakes you have a beautiful bike/build there
Hope a ride report will follow too
Congratulations & hope you enjoy/RIDE the heck out of it
I hear you and to be honest I could do with losing a couple of Kg’s myself but this is weight weenies and I love the attempt of trying to make your bike as light as possible. This doesn’t take away from the fact that IMO it is a beautiful looking frame and the finish is excellent as you would expect from a high end frame. Just wish they made more of an effort to lighten the frame.flying wrote:IMO Nonsense...

As for a ride report; unfortunately the east coast of Australia has seen a years worth of rain over the last month alone. We’ve had floods all around us not to mention the debris and pot holes on the road with more rain to come.
Once it dries up I will be able to get her out to see how she rides. I can’t wait to compare her to my Oltre XR2 which ride beautifully IMHO.

You could save in the wheels as in disc form they aren't actually that light nor are they aero...

I know they are not the lightest but they are super stiff and punchy (at least my lightweight tubs are).CustomMetal wrote:You could save in the wheels as in disc form they aren't actually that light nor are they aero...
I need to get some hours on the bike before I can really test these wheels.
Torrential rain and floods here means no riding for the next few weeks.
I might consider some extralite wheels in the future.

Im using the Garmin Rally dual sided Pedals. I’ve been using the V1 for the last 8 years and they have been pretty good for the most part.mike wrote:What pm are you using? Pinarello dogmas are still heavy but ride great!!!!
