Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I had a proper road bike, my previous builds were mainly gravel, cx or xc setups.
Lately I've kind of started missing going fast, so started toying with the idea of a WW build. There is still a nearby listing of a Focus Izalco max built with Sram Red22, already below 7kg. I've estimated I could get it under 6kg with a full budget of 1700 EUR.
Luckily I realised I do not need such a bike, soI ended up buying a Viner Comp Line, equipped mostly with 10s Dura Ace for a bargain (340 EUR, 8.9kg as pictured). Goals are sub 800 EUR for budget, and sub 7kg for build. Keywords are: Cane Creek eeBrakes, OrinetExpress carbon finishing kit, Sensah 1x grouppo. Some wheels I haven't fully figured out yet - there is a carbon tubular pair laced with hope hubs for 225 EUR, and this viewtopic.php?f=3&t=168969&p=1732391#p1732391 for 250.

For now, I've stripped the current bike, ordered pretty much everything except for the wheels, and calculated the future weight as the following:

Frame - Viner Comp Line, paint stripped, including hangers and cable adjuster - 1347g
Forks - AliX full carbon - ~350g
Headset - Ritchey drop in - 58g
expander plug - 20g
BB - Dura Ace 7800 - 100g
Brifters - Sensah SRX - ~426g
RD - Sensah SRX - ~320g
Casette - ZTTO 11-13 - 436g
Brakes - CaneCreek eeBrakes G4 - ~200g
Crankset with 40T NW ring- Zeroing ultegra -630g
Chain - ZTTO - 220g
Cockpit - AliX fullcarbon integrated - ~280g
QR Skewers - Lixadia - 40g
Seat post - Elita One 27.2 cut to ~300mm - ~120g
Bartape - Lizards Skin DPS 2.5 - 50g
Saddle - AliX - ~110g
Seat post clamp - AliX - ~10g
Pedals - Ritchey V4 Pro - ~270g
cables & housing - RISK spine style - ~100g
Wheelset - ?? DA 7701/7801 carbon tubular with tufo hicomposit carbon - 1980g

All parts and the initial bike (with the theoretical wheelset) cost 1210 EUR.
Selling the spares forecasted to sum 450 EUR.

Casette, brifters, craks and RD are rather heavy, I do understand that. In case this turns out to be a keeper, I'll consider a pair of Sram Force shifters and arms, Rival 1x RD and AliX UL cassette combo. Should save around 500g.

Got the wheelset. Ended with Hope Pro III rear and Circus Monkey front hubs laced into 38mm unknown cabrong rims. Vittoria Corsa Cx 23 and 25's are glued on, weighting 1095 and834 grams (w/o skewers). Paid 215 EUR.
For pedals, I found a pair of Ritchey V4 Pro's, 273g on the scale, for 21 EUR. While they are neither the lightest, nor rated the higest, I needed SPD's and these were the best of both worlds being available. Had the Xpedo Ti's on a previous build, and did not quite like 'em.
Also the groupset arrived last week. 440g for 1x briftes including cable, 319g for the RD, and 441g for the 11-36 cassette. Already eyeballing the eBay listings, but for now I goota keep my budget mantra.

Finally done.
Its been ages since I've ridden skinnies, 23C feels pretty wild.
Final weight is 7165g with pedals, 6892 without them. Also Ritchey V4 pros are a piece of garbage (but a piece of light garbage, sadly).
Will run it like thsi for sime time, if its a keeper, then aslmost 700g can be easily saved without breaking the bank (Force brifters, red cranks, rival RD, a lighter chain and cassette).
