Lightest S-Works Aethos possible?
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
I had bought the bronze one on 54. Got bored of it and got it repainted with a chrome-like effect. Then I had a setback with that color and decided to go full blown weightweenie.
The frame and fork were sanded to the limit to reveal raw carbon. Some interesting tags showed up in the process. Then a very light matte clear coat was applied. No decals.
Frame: 559g
Fork (cut, but not too short): 273g
No hardware on the scale, just carbon
Photos below, please share your thoughts and references to other colors / sizes.

What wheelset are u aiming for?
The lightest for road I could come up with would be something like MCFK or Schmolke (clincher) at 350g/rim, Berd spokes 2g/pcs (96gram) and Extralite or 180 EXP hubs which would be something like 1007g or 1070 gram.
May I ask your weight? Because this build looks ridiculously light, and using a 5g expander in that fork. I mean if you are not a heavy person it probably works. Just don't want you to die.

This is going to be an interesting build to follow! You are off to a great start with the paint stripped frameset!
Any news? Your thread inspired me to strip an Aethos too
