Weather is surprisingly nice so a good time to test some new tires. Veloflex Corsa Race Clinchers with Latex tubes. Weight didn’t disappoint either

Black bike on gumwalls always looks good Image

Bike is sitting nicely at 7.13kg, with room for more weight savings.

Future plans:
- Sram Red Dub crank + Sigeyi PM: -100g
- Wahoo Speedplays?: -75g

Very nice  !!
As for Speedplays, if you like them or have Speedplay specific shoes.
Else they just shift the extra weight under you feet IMHO.

Louis :)

Bike was flawless on my holiday in Italy. Very impressed by the Galfer rotors, they performed great on these long very steep descends.
I also got a Sroad 11-32 cassette which performed fine.

Quick little upgrade. Thanks to @ryanw I found out you can install a dura ace cage on a ultegra r8050 ss derailleur. These are easy to find second hand from people upgrading to ospw’s. Results in a 20g weight saving.

Love these small weight saving upgrades that have zero impact on performance

Excellent result considering the weight of the frameset. Bike looks great with the Veloflex tires. Did you use those tires in Italy? Punctures?

Thanks, yes no punctures. These tires are surprisingly quite puncture resistant

How are you finding the XCadey power meter? I recently started using one and found my power was reading approximately 10% higher than my Elite Direto trainer and my two 4iii Precision PMs. Did you need to apply any scaling to yours?

I scaled down my XCadey to 90% which was kind of a pain because the XCadey iOS app is buggy and didn't display the XCadey PM so I had to borrow an Android phone. After scaling down, the power numbers seem more realistic.

I have 2 and they read the same, they seem right. I haven’t compared them to something else. I was planning on testing them against my mate’s assiomas but I haven’t been able to get around doing that.

How are you finding the comfort of the bike?

The reason I'm asking is that it was tested to 207W by Tour Magazine and in this comment on this blog the bike was described as using cheaper layup and thus creating a very uncomfortable bike: https://www.cyclesetforme.fr/news-aero- ... ment-12240

Bike looks great in my opinion! Love the small upgrades :-)

I mean yeah it isn't a comfort-oriented bike, It's an aggressive aero race bike. It is a stiff bike but it's not overly harsh. I don't know about the low-grade carbon part but yeah it's half the price of an s-works, so it would be weird if it uses the most exotic carbon available.

I really like it, I get a lot of compliments on it and when they pick it up they are amazed that it's lighter than their 12k bikes. For me, it's the perfect bike for my usage, which is fast group rides and the occasional Grand Fondo.
