Wanted a new road bike for a while now, considered a lot of options. But then Stevens released this new aero frame that ticked almost all the boxes. Integrated cables, aero, decent weight. And since I work in a shop that sells stevens I could get it for a really good price.

Goal is 7kg, initial build will be heavy.

Claimed weight: Frame 1030g, Fork 497g
Actual weight s56: Frame 1140g, Fork 502g, Cut Fork 470g
*I did weigh the frame with hanger, fd mount and cage bolts.

Seatpost: they send me the 400mm even though I ordered the 330mm, but hey I can always cut it. Decent weight, the seatclamp definitely can be lighter (already looking at options)

Thru axles: these where a surprise, nicely machine to save weight.

Headset: topcap is just solid plastic, might 3d print something lighter in the future.

For the groupset I went with Ultegra di2 11s. I could have gone with the 12s version but I would have had to wait a lot longer for that.

Wheels, currently some Dt swiss e1800’s. Nothing special, will upgrade to some Farsports Feder’s in spring.

Oh boy Image, the least fun part of the build:

I like the existing set-up, and its a Stevens, so expected to last more than one season racing on Belgian cobbles, right?

Thanks!

Another 60g saved by changing out the seatpost cradle. Used my old elita one seatpost as a donor. Hopefully it holds up.

Now I just need to cut my seatpost down a bit.

First impressions of the saddle, very stiff but comfy.

bike looks very good, but asks imo for a deeper wheelset!

A carbon wheelset is on the way, Farsports Feder 45's, will also save around 450g :D

Very cool looking bike and quitte lightweight for aero indeed. Good to see your seatpost is relatively light from the start. My thompson also came with something proprietary and I see no way to shed some grams there...

man this looks the part and then some. I actually love it with the shallow training wheels.

@Primera23
Propriety parts are always hard to save weight on. Managed to save 95g by changing out the cradle and cutting it to length. There always is something you can do :)

@prebsy
Thanks, I also have a soft spot for aero bikes with really shallow wheels. Wasn't really feeling mine because of the awful DTSwiss logo's.
