Apologies, having some Flickr troubles.
Slamset headset on order to get the front end lower, may go with a -17 120cm Deda to sit me lower further if that doesn't work out. HT is tall as understandable for a 58cm frameset, but I'm used to low and long. We'll see!
Any thoughts on a good Seatpost collar for
34.9 here? Also managed to find a Darimo T2 layback that should be arriving next week

I'm curious to know what the weight of this thing is.
Can you give us an approximate weight?
EDIT: Nice bike.
So how come you went with mechanical and not electronic shifting? (especially since you went with discs)

So, the frameset is way lighter than I thought it would be, I'd estimate it's about 7.8-8.2ish at the moment. When I finish work I'm going to track down my scales so hopefully can get a figure up as I'm really keen to know my starting point.synchronicity wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 12:06 pmI'm curious to know what the weight of this thing is.

Cane Creek slamset arriving tomorrow and going on, the fork crown I used was a temporary 'split' one as I don't have a crown race tool, but going into the shop next week so the front end will fit lower which I'm needing.
Mechanical as I wanted Campy shifting but didn't want to pay for campy electronic as it is ludicrous! I like the tactile feel of mechanical and also just love the hoods on campy compared to anything else.
Nice looking bike, how does the ride compare with the Nemo?welchy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:38 amApologies, having some Flickr troubles.

Is the frame not a reasonable amount longer than the Nemo?
No, although you have given me thought to black it out now. It spells CCord as I've worn it away with ankle rub!! I have a lot of float (and short cranks for 189cm tall of 170mm) as I have had some pretty heavy knee surgeries, 8 and counting, so short cranks and lots of float helps massively.
Thanks man, absolutely love it but need more time in the saddle. Can't not be campy in today's world.
Pretty much the same dimensions but HT is about 8mm higher, It's obviously way way lighter which you can feel as I jumped straight between them and identical build as this is my replacement until the NEMO comes back from warranty in Italy. Faster on the acceleration, less composed over bumps, more skittish on descents but generally feels quicker. The NEMO is kind of the muscle car, this the Caterham and a lightweight carbon a Ferrari to me if I put it in those terms.cjm wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 11:06 pmNice looking bike, how does the ride compare with the Nemo?welchy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:38 amApologies, having some Flickr troubles.

Update: Slamset lovely and low, now to chop lots of steerer!

Nice build, i like the aithein-frames a lot! the tune stems are available (albeit difficult to get) in various colours, maybe one of those might suit well.
I need to get some longer rides in to figure position, so far I think I need about 1cm lower and 1cm longer from the front end. I may end up getting this from some traditional geo bars. If that works out purple stem will be on the horizon.reedplayer wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 6:34 pmNice build, i like the aithein-frames a lot! the tune stems are available (albeit difficult to get) in various colours, maybe one of those might suit well.

I had a call from Cinelli to say they will respray the frameset free of charge, it's currently with the UK Distributor and there are issues with them knowing how to send back to Italy and return again due to Brexit. Extremely upsetting the impact Brexit is having on the supply chain for cycling in general in the UK and Europe, particularly as people have been so reliant on the free functional trade for bike components. It makes things far far harder now.
I've been pretty happy with the climbing on this, Darimo post arrives tomorrow. Just had to pay a £50 customs charge and it's stuck in port until the fees are paid, which is fine, although I had no knowledge it was stuck in customs until I followed it all through. Again, damn Brexit.
So until the Cinelli returns (and I'll sell it) the Kinesis remains. At that point it returns I'll sell and I'm thinking of going for a Noah Fast Disc or Helium SLX Disc.
In the meantime I still need to find my damn scales!!! More tune goodies from R2 bike should arrive (Xpanda headset and Seatclamp) should both cut 30-40gs, along with about 150gs for the seatpost . So overall I should make a 200g saving by next week, then i'll slap it on the scales

So Darimo arrived today, 84.5G on the nose..
The Darimo is 84.5g and the Berk 106g so total should be 190.5g
