I put some gold decals on my bike today.

To stay with Zipp wheels I bought a set of Zipp 454 NSW Tubulars - with these wheels ( without saddlebag ) it's 7.05 Kg complete. I have some XTR discs on the Zipp 303 wheels now ( bit lighter ) and the DA discs on the 454 wheels. As they where for Katusha, these wheels came with white water transfer decals - so I've ordered black decals to cover these.

From this ( non removable imprinted decals ) :

To this, decals came from Ukraine and the fit was okay, not 100% but since Zipp never made 454 decals this was the best option. If someone finds 35mm high original Zipp decals ( maybe 808 - I don't know their hight ) please let me know. :

You can get rid of the decals completely w acetone if you cover the acetone soaked rag in clingwrap to stop the volatile evaporating for a minute or 2 the water transfer will come right off.

Thanks - I might give this a try, but not sure they are water tranfsers. According to Zipp the decals are : Zipp’s ImPress™ NSW graphics technology, which prints graphics directly onto the rim.

Recently I stuck the black "eBay" decals on to the wheels. Fine in itself - however, black decals on a white background sometimes leave a bit uncovered. But the quality of the decals was worse. Just bad and really not like original decals sturdy and super adhesive.

So today started with a rag and acetone to see if the white printed letter can be removed. And sure enough, it is also possible. Difficult but it's doable - I did 1 side of the front wheel today - so 3 sides to do ( another 9 hours I guess.) The hardest thing is to get the white print out of the dimples, but with a toothbrush - acetone - elbow steam and patience it will work.

And now she looks like this. And bought some Veloflex Raven for the Zipp 303's with a width of 27.5mm

My BMC SLR01 has a little brother since last week : BMC URS One - also stealth black.

Updates are on order : Shimano GRX 810 1x11 - Bottle cages ( Elite Rocko ) - BMC setback seatpost - Pro Discover carbon gravel bar + matching stem - Look x track carbon. So if someone is interested in the Sram Apex 1x11, let me know.

Nicely done. Didn't even think about the dimples. Looks much better.

The BMC URS is in between shiny and mat, but more mat. I have seen realy mat framesets - same goes for the SLR01 not realy mat mat as you know what I mean .. but both bikes are great.

Changed the Sram groupset to GRX 810 - Zipp 303S wheelset - Pirelli tires - Berk Lupina saddle on setback seatpost - Pro Discover carbon handlebar with matching stem.
