Sorry just reread your opening post. The hole punch will save weight, but unless you take time it can look a bit diy. However really comfortable

58 size and 641g for disc brake frame, it is really impressive by all means. Nice choice of components.
Ther is still movement in bringing the weight down, how much it will only depend on you.
Expander set, you can half it with Extralite expander and top cup.
Based on what you mentioned pedals are out of the game. You can save on chainrings. How about the bolts? Aluminum where it is possible. I guess that stem and seatpost clamp are Ti already. What bolts are used for calipers? If it is M6 you can use aluminum, suggest a reputable brand such us ProBolt. I've been using alu bolts here in mtb bike for many years. They are absolutely fine (if the size is sufficient).

My Aethos 58 Jet Fuel weight 631,4gr. Without FD hanger and all stickers removed where could. Except serialnumber sticker on the bracket site and the UCI one.
Just start to look and buy for all the parts. It will be build with DA, i only have to wait for the FD, delivery time from now 12 weeks.
Crankset will be THM with PM and bracket, 10 to 12 weeks for delivery.
I am start to make a list and photo’s of every component weight, time enough before building everything :D

you could definitely drop some weight on that big ring if you are ok with losing the solid plate look. TA specialties syrius is like 85g.

Hey

What seatpost length did you choose?

First of all; I dont mean to insult small people with the title;
I live in Holland and we tend to be quite tall people. In our shop the most sold sizes are 56, 58 and 60/61. Most of the really weenie builds are always sz 49, 52 and maybe a 54. Not for me sadly..

I set out quite some time ago to build a sub 6.8 kg bike based on a Lightweight Urgestalt frame and started collecting parts.
In the end i had it all ready to assemble, and quite some changes came in a short notice. First of all those changes was becoming the new owner of my LBS.
Its quite the thing to combine your passion with your day-job and it pleases me every minute of the day that I made this change. We are a Specialized dealer and through this forum I saw Spesh was busy with some stuff before our sales-rep told us anything (so good to be here!).
That "new thing" was the Aethos and before I knew it I placed the order for a carbon-jet-fuel frame in size 58. I have carefully weighed all parts and even went crazy with some things like weighing tyhe complete stock of 23mm GP5000 tires to find the two lightest ones.

The goals for this build we're very clear;
- As light as possible but with a few remarks
- Daily usable tires hence the choice for GP5000
- Powermeter included
- Shimano based pedals as I dont want to have a pair of shoes stricyly for this bike
- No crazy un-usable parts - should be possible to use daily.

It came out with the following list:
Frameset: 641 grams - Aethos sz 58 Carbon jet-fuel
Fork: 286 grams - Aethos
Spacer: 3 grams - Aethos Carbon UD
Headset bearings and ring: 44 grams - Aethos
Frame hardware and plastics: 27 grams - Aethos
Expander kit: 15 grams - Schmolke TLO
Thru Axles: 49 grams - Specialized
Seat Binder: 4 grams - Darimo Sub 4
Seatpost: 83 grams - Darimo T1 UD
Stem: 73 grams - Darimo IX2 in 120mm
Handlebar: 146 grams - Darimo Ellipse UD in 44cm
Saddle: 71 grams - Berk Dila (TO BE SWAPPED WITH LIGHTER SADDLE)
Garmin Mount: 16 grams - Carbonworks
Bottle Cages: 22 grams - Alpitude Superleggero (TO BE SWAPPED WITH CARBONWORKS)
Wheel front: 514 grams - Extralite C38
Wheel rear: 569 grams - Extralite C38
Tyres: 396 grams - Continental GP5000 in 23mm
Tubes: 45 grams - Tubolito S-Road
Rim Tape: 13 grams - Tune
Brake Discs + Bolts: 146 grams - Ashima in 160 front and 140 rear
Cassette: 139 grams - Rotor Uno 11-28
Bottom Bracket: 86 grams - C-Bear Ceramic BSA-30mm
Front mech: 163 grams - SRAM eTap 11 speed
Rear mech: 230 grams - SRAM eTap 11 speed with C-Bear Carbon jockey wheels
Shifters/cables/calipers with bolts: 744 grams - SRAM eTap 11 speed (BRAKE PADS TO BE SWAPPED WITH LIGHTER ONES)
Crankset: 537 grams - SRAM Red BB30 with Quarq AXS Power Meter
Chainrings incl Bolts: 167 grams - Rotor Carbon 50-34
Chain: 210 grams: PYC SP11
Pedals: 234 grams - Shimano Dura Ace
Bar Tape: 45 grams - Lizard Skins DSP 1.8

Grand total: 5717 grams

I want to improve on the brake pads (alloy backing plate), saddle (maybe Gelu?) and swap the bottle cages for CarbonWorks too. Should come in at something like 5670 grams in the end I figure.

If anyone has some ideas to shed more weight - please shout! Yes - I already watched the THM crankset but as all my bikes are built with Red eTap 11 Speed I like to continu the theme..

The Q Rings have been installed correctly in the meantime ;)

Wow nice build! Have you dropped weight further? Based on your initial build:
-5g Extralite expander
-15g Darimo Nexum
-30g Gelu K3 saddle
-50g Panaracer Gillar tires (they have puncture protection)
-15g BBinfinite two-piece BB
-95g S-works power crankset (or -70g with DZero / Red DUB arms)
-50g Time XPro 15 pedals
-15g Deda Traforato tape

That's 275g right there.

DuraAce is 220g lighter than Red22 Hyd in your case (i.e. ignoring crank, cassette, chain, and rotor weights, since those you wouldn't use SRAM/Shimano)

That's another ~500g. Would be ~5.2kg

Yep, Panaracer Gillar in 23mm can save you at least 75g for only $98

Not bad, $0.76/gram!

How does it ride? I'm 'Dutch size' and intrigued by a light frame that appears to work well in big sizes

How easy is it to take the stickers off the Aethos?

Sorry for the delayed answer, but it is very easy to pull of the stickers.
