4.97kg
As the bike stands after today's training sesh up Alpe D'Huez (46:14) tourist finish or 51:17 TdF finish (@299w avg-2x20 @100% with 2min rest period)
Quark PM
Sram Red 165 GXP cranks
Red 11-28t
XXX cage
Garmin Edge 130 (rubber band mount)
9100 pedals
Red rear mech
Red shifters (left hand gutted)
Carbon ti alloy QRs
Schmolke carbon top cap-carbon bolt and expander
Dt swiss RR21-1450g (training wheels but don't have anything lighter at the moment)
Alpha 90mm stem (Kalloy uno rebranded I imagine) 90g
Prime primavera x-lite bars 40cm-170g
Coco-bikeparts spline saddle -68g
Conti supersonic rear tyre-23c
Bonty R3 front tyre-23c
Vittoria latex tubes 19-23c
36t DA front chain ring
DA chain (not shortened)
Future mods for CTT race days
Get ride of bottle cage all together. (For longer mountain TTs carry mouthful size water sachets)
Find a wheelset (Spada alloy clincher maybe...)
Weigh up the pros and cons of fitting a brake splitter and removing rear brake lever leaf.
Fit feather light (even if unusable) rear brake cable set up
Replace all rear caliper bolts including pad bolts with carbon/alloy. Fit non existent pads without retainer bolts
Consider weight of garmin mount and selotape garmin to stem
Considering taking the paint off as when I resprayed it I just keyed in the factory paint and blasted over it.
Considering making DIY lighter seatmast top hat-at the very least, replace centre bolt with carbon and seat post clamp with lighter alternative
Research weight saving by chopping the drops.
Look at some Darimo Sram red lever clamps
Look into alloy headset bearings
Look into making custom Downtube cable stop-OEM is solid steel and probably 30g)
Additional notes* Replace 1bolt on each shimano shoe with carbon alternative or remove completely) alloy plate/washer alternatives to stainless??

Can you not just use one of the duo blender double mounts from the old integrated bars?Burkesquash wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 7:49 pmHAs anyone been able to find a Garmin Mount for the Aeolus one-piece carbon handlebar that comes with the 2021 Emonda SLR7, to combine an Edge on top and a Varia UT800 underneath?

Hi,cure wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 11:26 pmHello. I'm looking to purchase this frame. I saw trek is selling it again this year as a 2022 model. I want rim brake, mechanical in SRAM red or force. Are they still doing bb90 or is this new frame or the one you use the t47? Are they pressfit or threaded? I noticed the seat post isn't included? Is that normal and do I need to get that at trek store only? Thank you.
Yes it's BB90 and rimbrake. It'll be old stock now and not 2022 model. Yes you have to buy your own seatpost. (They get a lot of hate for this)

Finally getting around to working on the seat mast.
Notes-
Saddle is coco-bikeparts Spline @68g
Lightweight cradle ears fitted already.
The stock seatpost clamp on a Emonda seatmast is 23g. Have ordered a Darimo 3.9g
The 5mm hex saddle bolt complete is 17g. I've ordered an alloy and carbon bolt combo with titanium coupler to see if I can build something strong enough for 5kn. Probably save 10g atleast and worst case scenario I use Ti bolts and save 5-7g

Low-hanging fruit: headset bearing. The FSA bearing cover is very heavy, compared to the AER (or even the 110). If you are worried about longevity of the bearing, Cane Creek makes a lightweight bearing which has a good service life.

Thanks!
I have to admit for race day efforts I remove the headset bearing cover totally Can you link me the light bearing cover that fits the Emonda? Low stack if possible The stock FSA cover is 14g
Oh by the way-started to take the paint off.
Did a 50 minute Alpe TdF finish yesterday in the 52t, 1330 VAM so I'm considering switching to 1x permanently. Possibly a 46t but maybe a 48t

Nice I love to see all out builds like this and am looking forward to seeing updates.
Photos of the full bike would be great to see when your tuning is done.
Some thoughts:
You likely can save some weight in your cabling.
Bearing wise with the sizes the emonda headset uses you can likely get down to 13g top 23g bottom with ceramic, AER, or FSA SL. Many of these parts are no longer produced so they will get harder to find with time.
A dedicated properly sized waxed race chain is worth the investment.
Bolt on skewers can likely save some weight and will be more aero for hill climbs.
Given you already were considering dropping conventional bottles I can recommend the following product type: https://ultimatedirection.com/body-bottle-500/
