I have decided that 7.7 kg is my target weight. I am starting to weigh the components. I hadnt done this before and, unsurprisingly, it is quite useful. 7.7 kg is going to be tigh. Frame is 1.75 pre paint and derailleur hanger.
Very impressed with Thomson KC handlebar. Very light and very strong.
XPedo R Force pedals are light and good looking.

@DHG01 did you use Shimano SPD cleats with the pedals? I believe that's the reason why my set developed grooves, same as yours. Since then, I swapped cleats to Xpedo stock ones on both road and MTB shoes.

Very, very impressive Hongfu build.
Well spotted (and thank you), I am using SPD cleats. And those pedals are almost new (probably less than 200 km).
Cleating and uncleating is excellent with Shimano SPD.
I ve been using SPD for some time on another pair of R Force. My memory around the Xpedo cleats, and it has been a long time, is that they were not as good.
Attached the ones I have. Do those work well for you? Do they fit well on 2 hole shoes? These are the cleats I have.
I had similar experience with xpedo and shimano cleats.
I switched to the two bolt xpedo cleats. I don't think the three bolt version will fit two bolt shoes. They are for road shoes.
I believe the brass plate acts as support and friction surface. The connection is more solid and pedal wear seem to stop since I switched.

And if you have trouble sourcing the 2 bolt version, you can modify the shimano cleats. I used a dremel to cut the outer edge so the brass plate can fit. I think I had to file the brass plates down because it was too tight. Works pretty well now, just like the xpedo cleats.
It's funny I thought I was the only one to incorrectly use shimano cleats on xpedo pedals.
OK, sorry, back to regular programming. Thought I could help on the cleat issue.

Thank you very much both of you; useful for me.takolino wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 10:07 amAnd if you have trouble sourcing the 2 bolt version, you can modify the shimano cleats. Not much more update on regular program; paint is WIP. And then I think Rakhor wants to let dry for 2 weeks.
I ordered an Elita seat post yesterday. The previous one seemed a bit deformed from the Ritchey SC. It is actually something I ve come across also with the Ritchey Logic also; seat post enter very tight into the seat tube.

Fresh the 3-bolt cleats on road shoes felt better when clipped in compared to SH-51, but are more difficult to clip in than XC shoes with 2-bolt (same as photos above). Even after several months I occasionally slip from the pedal, the shoe under surface has noticeable scratches and there's a chance to bump nether regions into saddle. Walking was annoying, the shoe pivots over the cleat, clicks loudly and can damage soft surface you walk over, like indoor floors. For SPD pedals, I much prefer XC shoes or road shoes with walking covers. I saw a DIY walking cover mod for Xpedo 3-bolt cleat in one of the threads, should be much better than the stock option. AliExpress Speedplay knockoffs are way better in this regard - walkable, silent, two sides, hard to slip and less shoe damage, much cheaper.
Paint is almost completed; probably drying now. I haven't seen it yet though.
I did not realize it the amount of work involved.
I ve asked the painter to talk me through the process where he gets a chance.
The framebuilder handed him the sketches and also the belcarra saddle so he could mix and make the right color.
On a separate note, I received the 2.2 SES tubulars yesterday. 1060 grams with Enve carbon hubs. I was going to put off-road tubulars on them, but in the end it will be road tubulars for these wheels. I am having a challenge with another wheelset on a road bike, and they might have to go there for a while. 7.7 kg on off-road version is now not likely to happen. The off road wheels will be a bit more heavy. I think it will land at about 7.9.

And the build.
Had an issue with the XN tubulars so had to buy some in a rush yesterday.
I wanted to avoid tan sidewall; too much brown.
But it's cyclocross season, so tubbies were pretty expensive, particularly the full black ones (Tufo is not an option). 80 Eur for black Almanzo was a bit too much.
I found Schwalbe Samy Slick; they should arrive tomorrow. So hopefully the build is ready by Friday.

Love the frame!
I'll admit I do love a raw finish, but that way this has been tastefully painted (while still leaving most of the beautiful welds exposed) is lovely.
I'm sure it will ride as good as it looks too!

Thank you Zane. I agree with you; my titaniums are raw. I tried to do something a bit special but still discrete and I am very pleased.
I am going to visit your sub 4 thread; very impressive!
