I am now done with the frame. Polished the aluminum front mech hanger and cable bosses, and resprayed them in black. I am satisfied with the result, but not sure how well the paint will stand the test of time.

Hi there,
Hope the build is going well.
I can not reply to PM on here yet, so please check your email.
Hi Osoi, thanks a lot for your email and the detailed information you sent me! Just read it and inspires me to potentially drill a carbon frame to install downtube shifters. Not this one as it is meant to be more of a TT bike so I will be using aerobar levers. I would feel way safer when shifting in aero position at high speed

At 150g for the pair (154g claimed), these SRAM Aero SL-500 11 speed levers are quite heavy. But combined with the 71g brakes, that's a total of 225g, which is still 81g lighter than my traditional SRAM Red 11 shifters (306g).
Thanks! I think it would be possible (but heavier) without making any holes. Anyway your planned set up makes way more sense for this project.

Ordered some bottle cage titanium bolts and cut them to length with a dremel. 0.7g saved that way

Added Cannondale white decals for contrast. I chose the new font as I like the retro looks of it, and kept the logo.

Cut a good chunk of the seatpost length, as originally it was 40cm long! Now 35g lighter (96g total).
Potential marginal gains for the future: cutting again when the postion is dialed in and cutting bolts to size

Front wheel: Ax-Lightness Ultra 25T rim, with DT Swiss Aerolite spokes and Extralite Cyberhub. Weight is a brutal 350g!

Rear wheel: same setup, at 465g.
So total is 815g for the pair, which is one of the lightest wheelset available out there (though claimed weight was 790g). Can't wait to test them on the road once build is finished.

This is a fantastic thread, I am not at your level, neither skill or budget ;), but I am myself preparing my Supersix HM for a mountain triathlon. Perhaps you could help me with a few pointers if I write up a quick summary of my bike, gear and triathlon profile :)?

With pleasure, I'll do my best :welcome: I am pretty sure there are some quick wins in terms of $/grams saved on any setup. Feel free to create a thread on this forum, PM me, or post below.

Carbonworks style bottlecages. I use them on another bike already and find them and grippy enough to hold the bottle in place even when you ride on potholes and rough roads. At least compared to other lightweight options and shapes.
