Hi guys.
New bike coming soon (it's been 12 years since my last !).
Here are a few (sorry low quality IPhone) pictures of the project.
I was gifted this used frameset this winter, so started this stripping journey...
Lots, lots of hours carefully sanding the whole thing. Besides the colors and clear coat there was quite a bit of filler in many places.
I finished with a can of SprayMax 2K (3 layers) before the final sanding.
I'm happy with the result.
The frame (size M) went from 1003 g to 887 g.
The fork was 430 g if my memory's correct.
Can you guess the brand/model  ?

Slowly starting the build.
It's not an ideal fit for me but close enough, so first step is to transfer my fit numbers on this one (missing about 8-10 mm steer tube spacers right now). Then maybe cut the steerer a tiny bit to fit the stem top cap.

Finished (almost) the build late last night.
Still missing the handlebar tape.
I did a 15 minute ride on the Insideride to dial the initial fit.
I'm happy with the result so far.
Weight is without handlebar tape and old out-front computer mount.
Will do a proper ride today !

Thanks spokenwords.

I'm pretty amazed right now !!
I did 3 rides, mostly on flat terrain.
Aero gains is real   !!
This bike is fast :I averaged +2-3 km/h compared to same rides/effort from my previous bike.
From the review I read when I got the frame, I feared it would be too "grandpa" type of ride, but it's not ! Very lively feel !
Much more stable than my old Norco too. It simply keeps a straight line without any wobbling.
Also more comfortable than my Norco. Roads here a re pretty destroyed, it absorbs the cracks and holes better. Can't imagine what it will be like with 28-30 mm tubs 8)
I'm planning to enter a local crit (open cat.) on thursday. Curious to find out how it behaves :).
Oh ! and shorter cranks are great 8)
