They got carbon brakes on cars, not really the same as what we use carbon fiber on bicycles. Seriously light weight and seriously expensive. The mass of the rotor is huge compared to a cast iron rotor.
I cannot see how someone could make a carbon bike rotor without changing the thickness of the caliper. My guess is that it would have to be 4x thicker. Not a good thing for aerodynamics.
