Looks like a refresh rather than a full update.

https://www.specialized.com/cz/en/epic- ... p/p/220863

Changes:
- UDH
- Different shifter housing exit from the chainstay - now at the bottom (possibly linked to the UDH update)

No geometry chart yet, but the front triangle looks identical. Spec says 100mm fork, but from photos it maybe looks more like a 110mm? New Epic 8 comes with a 120 after all.

Nice setup. Still looks just like the chisel that I have had such a great experience with. This geometry feels just right to me.

I'm glad they haven't done away with the Epic hardtail. I thought they were trying to do away with it when they came out with the Epic WC.

they should've embrased monster-gravel and made the reach a bit shorter to comfortably run dropbars and at least a 40t chainring. just kidding, glad they kept it

Wish they added the in frame storage solution that the FS bike has.

The weight spec on the Comp-version is 200 grams lower on the new version, and from what I can see the only difference in spec is the new SRAM stealt-brakes on the new version.
The bike displayed on the website looks like a smaller size than the old one. If it’s the same size the new version seems to have a lower stand over height and lower stack.

The "old" Comp was shot in size L.
The "new" Comp is an M.

damn, what a nice color. I'm not in the market for a hardtail as I'm just in the process of moving mine to the new Epic EVO but dang, that's a nice dino-color

Seems like i am not going to upgrade my gf's bike, the UDH hanger is teasing, but as soon as ride5dev will get convinced, maybe they will sell their UDH mod to public (without xx sl groupset), or some of their competitors with do it first.

That mod only works on Specialized Road/Gravel hangers - Tarmac, Roubaix, Aethos, Diverge, Crux etc.
Doubt anyone would be willing to make it for the sandwich-style hanger used on Epic HT and Chisel.
