BMC Fourstroke 01 2024 Raw Frame

Swapping frames from my 2022 fourstroke under a warranty claim, (BMC stepped up) So I'm obviously obsessed with the weight of the new build and the bike shop sent me this. I know this is a heavy frame becasue of the air tank in the downtube for the autodrop seatpost as well as the dual link APS suspension. Does it look like there is something inside the bottom bracket? It's killing me to know if this will be as light as my current 01. I am currently sitting at 23.8 pounds. [/img]
The shop is 3 hours away from my house so i can't just go there and weigh it myself. Is there a good current spreadsheet that someone has used that will compare to this bike?

Nice job on the build list.

I appreciate this is the name of the site, but I've definitely found that my WW'ism is much stronger when I'm in build sheet mode then once I finish the build and actually start riding the bike. To that point, while I have a spreadsheet that tells me what my bike weighs, and I've weighed many of the parts on it for comparisons and choice-making, I don't think I've ever actually weighed my bike.

You've done a great job of getting the build under 24 with the parts you have. If the actual build comes out to 24.10, I wouldn't be too worried about it. But if you know that you're the type who will always have that number or the next number in mind, then your best option may be to swap that BMC to something else before it's built, as there's a full pound to save with most other top XC bikes right there.

I've had the bike for a few weeks and have done some more tweaking/ upgrades. I picked up some XTR brakes and swapped the tires to Specialized. It now weighs 23.8 with pedals and sealant. I have to say the bike is dialed for me and I am enjoying the handling and suspension very much. I would describe it as planted. Quite an improvement from the previous Fourstroke. I've have several mild pedal strikes. That is my only concren. I still think it is worth the extra weight to have a real multi link rear end and the dropper. Only thing left now would be the fork. Also the cabling on the front is not ideal. I can't live without the 3 pos lockout and dropper though.

Looks good! But why did you install the rear shock with the remote part downward instead of upward?
