Am I reading things correctly, the new chainrings aren't compatible with old Eagle chain? Only the new T-type?

They seemed to have only muddied their own water... Now three different 12 speed chain types... Which each are meant to be used within their own ecosystem(derailleur, cassette, chainring, chain). No bueno.

Seems like this makes running a mullet on a gravel bike difficult. Only a few gravel bikes are offered with UDH standard. Even if you did buy a gravel bike with UDH, there still aren't bigger 42-48t chainrings to use for gravel.

So I wonder if road udh will happen sooner rather than later or if they will have bigger XPLR cassettes out when the Red range is updated.

Powermeter set is 3k€ on R2bike. Seems only reasonable option would be X0 or XX e-bike Transmission Groupset. ~1300€/~1600€

1x 104 mm BCD chain ring | 36 teeth (made from steel, so ~140g, but only 104BCD chainring at the moment for old Quarq. So will have to do untill wolftooth and others comeout with a 104BCD alu oval ring)
1x cassette
1x Flattop chain
1x Pod Ultimate Controller
1x charger incl. USB cable

Rd is heavier than previous gen. Controller weight less.
So for weight weenies way, we'd pair new controller with the old RD. Or just don't use AXS.

450g+ rear derailleur at the end of swing arm isn't exactly good for rear suspension performance. XTR RD weight just 243g.

Other way around. You can take the new chainrings to use with the old chains, cassettes and derailleurs, and you can use the new shifters with the old group, but that's about the only thing you can do.

The new cassette has to be used with the new derailleur (it's spaced differently on the hub), the new chain has to be used with the new cassette and the new chainrings have to be used with the new chain.

Actually - not 100% sure. The chainline on the new cranks is wider and don't know if you can fit the PM on the old cranks. Maybe it's just 4 bolt chainrings that you can use on the old stuff. Sorry.

I'd have the new crank as well. New crank/powermeter/chainring... old chain, cassette, derailleur. Thoughts?
