Hello everyone I picked up a new Scott Scale 940 this month and its a little porker coming in a little over 12.70Kg with a carbon frame I really wanted the 925 but they did not have it and I wanted a bike now so the 940 it is. I'm looking at parts to upgrade to lose a few pounds and it looks like replacing the wheels with carbon wheels will save me 224 grams do you think thats worth it or should I start somewhere else? I'm also looking at Sram GX carbon cranks to replace my SX eagle cranks should I do that first?
Scott Scale 940 2022

Thanks
Ruben

I have a 940 2021 which is exactly the same. This one : https://www.scott-sports.com/fr/fr/prod ... black-bike

I replaced, in order :
-wheels + cassette (for XD) => DTswiss XR1700 + GX 10-50. Total gain weight = 1.215 Kg
-fork => RS Sid (no remote). Gain wheight = 0.965Kg
-crankset => Sram XX1. Gain wheight = 0.3Kg
-GX axs derailleur. Gain wheight ??

To come : syncros Fraser handlebar, XT brakes, saddle pro stealth

I think it's a no brainer since the wheelset is so heavy.

Weight in grams :
Front wheel syncros/DT1700
complete with tyre 1865/1670 (-195Gr)
whitout tyre 1145/960 (-185Gr)

Rear wheel syncros/DT1700
Complete with tyre and cassette 2800/2195 (-605Gr)
Without tyre (with cassette) 2090/1480 (-610Gr)
