Hello JS.
Saying stuff so there is more groupsets for me would be good strategy. :)

And direct mount - i understand that it can improve shifting, but increase the risk of damage to frame or to the rear mech, compared to option with hanger. Anyway after watching few more videos:

- i still don't like shifter (i hope you can use the old one)
- rear mech looks good and installation is probably not pita process
- older cranks looked better
- cassette gears are better as there is no jump from 42 to 52 like on the older one

i also saw that 2025 in the install video... hopefully that's not true. I don't SEE anything that indicates a brain but i also see no remote lockout. I find it hard to believe that bike gets raced withh no way to lockout the rear.
Is there a brain logo you see on the rear damper ? gray sticker ?

Casually teased/revealed in the new SRAM Eagle videos. Could this actually be the Epic EVO or have they just got rid of the Brain? Does the graphic behind the Epic logo on the chain stay say WC or EVO?
So far in Specialized language 'Evo' means the long travel version of a bike, so it's highly unlikely this would be called an Evo. Probably this new platform will be the Epic, and the current or next gen Epic Evo will stay the Epic Evo.

My dealer just told me they will be able to order the new Epic on Tuesday. 110 front and 75 rear, no word on a new evo being released.

Any additional confirmation on this (orderability)?

Specialized pushed the dealers orders until the 20th so they can get them in stock, looks like people will be able to order them on the Specialized website the 27th of April.

Talked to my dealer about it yesterday, sounds like it will be an S-Works frame only option and regular builds will start around the current expert model price range.

The rear shock will not have a brain and is effectively a Sid Luxe they elongated to fit in the frame design.

Epic Evo may have a slight refresh this year, but nothing major will change with that bike is also what I was told yesterday.

Actually 80mm rear travel. 110mm F on S works, regular build 120. Special lockout on almost all MTB from now on. (no front or rear brain). Also, regular Epic (not Epic XC) already has a new much lighter (400 ish grams) frame being used by factory riders.

Someone on another forum was joking that Spec spent R&D to save 100 grams on this frame only to lose 150 grams with SRAMs new transmission.

As for upgrading, as a ww, I'm still using 11 speed and loving it. I don't see a reason why any ww would use 12s as we all were able to pedal our bicycles before 12s was invented.
