Epic refresh in '23 or '24
Moderator: Moderator Team
I am an early adopter on most of the cycling technologies, but i don't know to be honest.
This will surely add 300g or so.
Example rule "500 Watt = Lock mode" wouldn't work for me, because sometimes i produce 500W over the roots section.
This all seems to me similar like syncro shift - i am not using it at all.

Is that custom tuned to epic, or is it just off the shelf upgrade kit?
What was the price range for the kit?

I guess for the epic its custom tuned. I ride another brand so i ordered the just off the shelf upgrade kit. About pricing. I don't know. They can preorder it but can't see prices at the moment. Someone told me this weekend the retail price is arround 4000$. But to be honest, i guess it will be somewhere around 3000$. I guess we need to wait till they'll launch the product.

Don't you think that the system will detect that you're pushing 500W over roots? A Sensor can certainly be used to recognize wether you are going flat, up or down.req110 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 12:56 pmI am an early adopter on most of the cycling technologies, but i don't know to be honest.

do you need a SRAM cranks or can this shaft-looking-sensor be placed in any crank that has space?

The original FA's spindle sensor was made for dub cranks specifically & I would be very surprised if anything but the new T-Type/Transmission cranksets will be supported / the sensor made to fit snug into those
Frame: "optimized for wireless drivetrain and seatpost" is worrying me. I am planning to use a cable actuated seatpost. (i have ordered sworks frameset). Any insights on that? I hope it will be possible.
UPDATE: guy on another forum told me that cable routing will be done the same way as on epic wc.

Also what I find interesting is that the fork on the epic is using the ultimate lowers?? When you look at the pros they are using flight attendant with the SL lowers with the cut out.
I was thinking about buying the frame set without flight attendant and then sell the ultimate fork buy the sl fork then upgrade to flight attendant so I can have the lighter fork.
