There are continental race king race sport berstein edition which are below 600g. But issue is that these tires are not tubeless ready. You can mount the, ride them, but they don't hold air for long.

My 2.25" Rocket Ron Lightskin is 553g, but as @req110's points out, a proper tubeless tire holds air much better. You can put a Tubolito S-Tubo in, replacing poor air retention with poor puncture resistance.
Wolfpack MTB Speed 29x2.25" is 590g
This tire has seriously more grip than any other choices under 600g (despite having "speed" in the name, just look at the tread knobs...). And it isn't undersized. In fact, it measure similar width to Maxxis Rekon Race 2.35.
I use Wolfpack MTB Race 29x2.4" front and Wolfpack MTB Speed 29x2.25 rear, and I like it.

I agree, a very fast tyre despite the relatively high knobs which makes them very grippy as well. One remark: this tyre is fast due this supply, light casing which makes them very prone for punctures.Hexsense wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 4:02 pmWolfpack MTB Speed 29x2.25" is 590g

Occasionally you can still find the old Schwalbe tyres: for example Racing Ray

Just bought some Michelin wild racer ultimates at a steep discount too. Labelled as 500g for a 650b 2.25 but I haven't actually weighed it yet. 29er should still be within 600gjoeeboh wrote:Using a pair of nobby nic liteskin pacestars at about 620g for a 27.5 2.25. These are the old discontinued versions

I've used the specialized renegade rear & fast trak front for 2 summer seasons & really like them for a fast rolling combo. If you live/ride anywhere vaguely rocky I wouldnt use an s works version on the rear. I use the slightly heavier, but noticeably stronger control casing for the rear tyre, still less than 600g. I think the s-works fast trak 29er 2.1 front was 540g
There were so many test regarding tires and rolling ressistance / grip /punture resistance. i got used to scwalbe racing ralph/ray and for more grip even rocket ron.
If so many world class XC racers use it i can too
performance version lighter but on rocky terrain it wont last long especially the sidewalls.
anyway i think that there is not much diff in weight between all these brands.

Very hard to find but I just picked up a set of these NOS Schwalbe Furious Fred tires, 29x2.0. Made with baby skin, can't wait to try them out!kervelo wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 8:19 amOccasionally you can still find the old Schwalbe tyres: for example Racing Ray
