By this do you mean that? I know some find the 32SC really flexy. It sounds like you find both stiff enough but more details would be great!

Yes, they are stiff enough for my riding. My daily training bike has 32SC and I'm not able to notice significant operational or stiffness-related differences between 32SC and the new SID. For me the biggest differences are the weight and SID's great feature to full self-service.

You can extend a Rockshox Reba up to 150mm. I believe they weight around 1650g with axle for the boost version. You can also modify them with an RCT3 open bath damper and that makes it perform close to the SID.

Great that RS came back to the lightweight race versus FOX. FOX used to be heavier in the past, SC took the trone not anymore.

Now, what is the non blue colour scheme? A bit tired of this blue thing, never liked it. I owned 4 different SID's with the years, from the second year version. The whole orange fox thing, not much of my taste, with some exceptions, but then this blue sid is a bit of a double facepalm. Since there are normally just 2 colour options for forks, great that one is black, but the other option would be nice silver, or white, or plain red.

Black one will look good anyways.

So other than the initial pictures with the brain logo on the upper part of the lower in the original photo we saw, I hadn't seen anything about the Brain version of this new SL. Screwing around on the specialized site I found this.

There are also a couple of articles on it but no weights
I wonder how much the weight penalty is from the non-brain sid sl with twistloc.

I bought a 2020 SID Ultimate Carbon a few months ago, right before the new SID arrived. Now, I tuned it with Charger Race Day, weights only ~1330 grams now and it is really stiff compared to Fox SC forks - especially the ones with the old CSU!

From the point of braking stiffness point of view, yes, stiffest from this list. Torsional Stiffness is also quite OK, especially if we compare to Fox SCs or RS RS-1. 2020 Lefty Ocho Carbon: torsional stiffness: 23,3 Nm/°, braking stiffness: 190,4 Nm/°

One interesting info. The 2020 SID Ultimate (non-carbon CSU) with 120mm travel has torsional Stiffness 28,7 Nm/°and Braking Stiffness 192,6 Nm/°, which is a pretty good value (source: Bike Magazin, Germany).
I'm really curious how the 2021 SID performs here, hopefully German magazines will measure it soon.

Let us know how the Charger Race Day performs compared to the old damper.

I had a relatively short test ride on various terrain, today morning. Movement is really, really plush (okay, I did a lower leg service as well which also counts), the characteristic is very similar to the Charger2. Maybe the initial movement needed a bit more force and small bump sensitivity is different a little bit. I have to mention, I did a fine-tuning on the Charger2 with my Quarq ShockWiz, played around with low compression settings as well (Charger2). No possibility to tune this on Charger Race Day damper, it uses a factory setting. In summary: wow!

Rockshox introduced a nice fender for the C1 SID's.

Has anyone tried to fit that to an older SID model, for example 2020 B4? I understand that older models do not have the screw holes in the bridge like 2021 models, but perhaps the new fender could be fixed with zip ties, velcro, etc.

Beyond the missing screw holes, (as far as I know) 2021 lower leg is narrower than the 2020 and pre-2020 versions (2021 CSU is also narrower) and the shape of the arch is also different. Very likely won't work - but hopefully someone will have experience on this, sooner or later.

Just seen this topic here, the 2021 SID Brain fork is ~1520g: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=163355
Based on this, the Brain damper must be somewhere in the 240-260 grams range.
