I'm looking for a new lightweight saddle for my full suspension xc bike.

What would be the best lightweight saddle that is also really comfortable?

I'm quite light (65 kg) and I have a selle italia slr xp now. I find it too hard for riding on rougher trails. I also have tried fizik nisene, but it's a bit heavy and I think the slr's form suits my ass better...

Any suggestions for a sub 200 g saddle?

The usual word is AX lightness... but there is this new Tune saddle available in a few weeks from now you van see it here!

Tune says ROAD ONLY, but we can wait till somebody will put it on his machine and tells us it's ok! :)

AX-Lightness is good but expensive. If you've got the cash then great.

Otherwise:
As you already have an SLR XP (185g from memory)
Could you try a standard SLR saddle (135g)?

Haven't rode an SLR XP (but I've seen one), but have rode an SLR.
Differences appear to be additional padding and the cut-out.

I would sugest the SLR has more flex than the SLR XP
(that just from looking - not riding)

If you don't mind carrying a few extra grams (195g claimed, ~220g actual) then a WTB Rocket V Stealth might be worth a look.

Actually has some padding
.....but it still has to work!

...the existing range of Tune Speed Needles range from 87-109 grams and cost ...euro at [link and price removed by Frankie - B SPAM]

The new Tune piece will not come cheap - and is not likely to be comfortable either...

according to forum member Pyf, who is the french importer of tune, the saddle is quite comfy!

I ride with a SLR as well. I found it to be pertty good. My only grip is that since the saddle is pretty flat and thin the insides of my legs can get pretty bruised up if I'm getting bounced around alot of rock sections or downhills.

Most MTB saddles (not ultra light weight ones) have big rounded edges and don't cause this same situation. The SLR is intended for road use so you don't have that same concern.

Neverless....I still have used this saddle for almost two seasons and don't plan on changing.

I use an SLR XP Trans Am on my full-sus bike for things like enduro's, polaris and all-day stuff, and a standard SLR on my race bike. I get on with them both very well. The SLR is more comfortable than you might think, given that it doesn't have a slot down the middle like the XP TA one has. In the case of the XP, you get a lot of extra padding for the sack of 40g in weight.

I ride the gipiemme stealth 124 G max (147g) - which is a great saddle!
thick padded, titanium rails, carbon shell.
there is also an 124 G (124g) saddle not so thick padded. See attached pic from my bike.
price is 140 euro.

Moonbiker.....I can't find either of those saddles on their website. Is the 147g a confirmed weight?

by the way....sweet looking ride! I like the custom paint job!

147g is the weight of my 124G Max saddle on race bike, bought at http://ciclicorsa.shop.t-online.de/ 140 euro

124g is the weight of my 124G saddle on MTB bought at ebay 80 euro

the slr saddle 144g that i used before don't was so comfordable ,but is also a good and cheap saddle,

but the slr carbon without padding is very hard and sharp for a lots of money.

the gipiemme stealth 124 G max (147g) saddle is my favorite.

Moonbiker,

How would you compare the slr and the gipiemme g124 max, which one is softer and more comfortable? How is the g124 max compared to the more padded slr xp?

SLR XP isn't more padded than the SLR Ti, I think, I have had both and I dind't feel any difference, only weight difference. For me the SLR is more confy than a flite.
