Day after Thanksgiving I quit drinking, switched from a paleo-ish diet to hi-carb vegan-ish, and started running again. Built up to ~40-50mpw by the spring, switched to road cycling late spring, and kept up 100+mpw all summer. It helps that where I am now is where I was in 2014 before work stress and a running injury spiraled me out for 18 months.. I'm only 5lbs above my fittest adult weight at this point, so it's going to take serious work to lean out from here. My plan is a Kickr and TrainerRoad for the winter - just waiting for the next REI 20% off coupon..

aiming to drop a little bit more come race season, most of what is left now is from my bodybuilding days, didn't realise cycling could get you so "ripped"!

post marriage...takes discipline. i didn't gain as much as you did...but enough that its difficult to get back to where i was.
cutting out sugars got me to about 6.2% fat... but still not at my target weight. unfortunately...winters rearing its ugly head and its getting more difficult to get out.
still riding in 35F degree weather...but once snow hits the pavement...i'll jump on my mid-phat bike and won't be able to lose as much...or ride many miles for all that matters.

I hope I can weight 63 kgs for my first objective of the 2017 season, in mid March. I've been 63-63.5 kgs in my best races last year (I mean this season hehe). I think I could weight 61.5 or 62 and still be competitive.
I have 3 months to reduce 4 kgs. Problem: Christmas is coming....

Not much of a weight weenie here... I've always been active, but have always been overweight. Years of olympic weightlifting and a pretty solid year of general inactivity has pushed me up to around 127kg (280lb) at 6'4 (193cm).
I've always enjoyed bmx and mountain biking, but found an awesome deal on a solid road bike towards the end of last season and absolutely fell in love with road riding. I still plan on doing lots of mountain biking (I live in Calgary, AB, so they are right there), but definitely plan on spending more time on the road bike and (hopefully) slimming up the side profile a bit. Ha ha.
