Don't know if you are upgrading group sets too but I went through an identical dilemma and luckily the slightly longer reach of 9200 compensated for the shorter reach of the bars (relevant bc I like to leave my hands on the hoods). One additional consideration: Some folks here have mentioned going narrower resulted in them wanting to go longer on the stem. I didn't find this to be the case too much for me but might be worth experimenting a little. I found the more aero longer position was fine for the flats but I live in the Rockies and after a few hours of big climbs, I wanted my normal position back. Just something to keep in mind.BikeTyson wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 12:18 amCan't decide on sizing for this cockpit. I'm currently riding 120 stem, 80 reach, with 40 width and levers turned in to measure 37 at the hoods. I'm going back and forth between the 38/115 and the 40/120. The 40/120 gives me the most similar to what I have, though 5mm shorter reach. I like to sprint and I'm a fairly big guy, so I like my current 42 drops which I would get with the Roval. Basically an aero version of what I'm running. But then I think I'd like to go narrower down to 38s. I'm already riding my levers at 37, so I know at worst I could match this, and if I wanted could go narrower. But with a 115 stem and 75 reach, I'd be going 1cm shorter in total reach. I don't think it would be that crazy. My other worry is the 40 in the drops compared to 42 now. I don't know how the narrower drops would feel during sprints. What do you guys think?
Edit: The other option is a two piece Enve In Route stem with Aero bar. It would be the best of both worlds with narrow tops and wider drops (either 37/42 or 39/44). But it would end up being like 150g heavier with the two-piece system. And I'm not waiting for nor paying $1200 for the Enve 1-piece setup.

I know the rapide cockpit was an issue for those with slammed stems on the SL7. It looks like MagCad has a solution: https://www.magcad-designs.com/products ... 4c20&_ss=r

Custom Aerobars for Roval Rapide Cockpit
I think my Aerobar project came to an end for nowand I am quite happy with how it turned out. Inspiration was the Canyon monobar and wanted to do some modifications and make it fit to my bikes. It fits on 3 different bars and now also on the Roval Rapide. I just have to switch the distance profiles. It weighs about 350g with cabling and think it is not too bad for DIY. It was 3D scanned and remodeld in CAD for the fit on the handlebar. All molds are 3D printed, partially with a resin 3D printer and a normal filament one.
It will be perfect for all upcoming hilly triathlons
Hope you like it and maybe find any inspiration
Fit on the SL8 The monobar itself is a little bit asymetric. I grab it with the right hand first, with the left on top -> thumbs are in perfect shifting position and left hand for the front brake is in better reach.
It is adjustabal in length and angle
I was happy when shifting with the Shimano 12speed also worked like with the old 11speed. Only thing was to solder 2 connectors to be able to switch between the different DI2 generations (SD50 to SD300)

Okay so a poster on the Sl8 thread has compared the height of his bars on his tarmac with -6 degree stem to the height of his rapide cockpit bar on the same bike.... his rapide cockpit is 10mm lower so surely this would suggest that the rapide cockpit bar is at -12 degrees ?
