Get lighter thru axles instead of the ones w the levers. Should cut out some more weight.
Yup was planning on getting Blacklock thru axle https://www.fairwheelbikes.com/extralit ... quantity=1 but they are really expensive. Haven't had luck finding other ones that I can actually order online.

Just ordered saddle and a seatpost from Aliexpress so should save 227g $76 :D

There's a section in the manual dedicated to the installation of mudguards: https://cervelo.cdn.prismic.io/cervelo/ ... l_2020.pdf
  • Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 8 Di2
  • Cervelo Caledonia Rival eTap AXS
  • Vitus Venon Evo

Has anyone the 51 frame size version and fitted 32 mm Continental GP5000 S Tubeless tires on wide rims?
I want the 32C tires for comfy endurance rides on potholes cobblestones etc.
However, on wide rims they sometimes are 2-3 mm larger, which could be too narrow for the 34 mm tire clearance Cervélo gives for the Caledonia.
I am planning to buy the Light Bicycle Carbon wheels (they have 21 mm inner width, so 32mm might be too wide?)

I use Gp5000 30s on a 25mm internal / 32mm external and there is a ton of room.
I'll be running a 30mm internal / 38 external soon, as theyre just doable with adequate clearance.

I have the Caledonia 5 and bought cheap axles from Ali. Assuming your axles are the same (threaded with lever) what I bought is below. I just read the measurements printed on the axles. Couldn't get the exact length on the front so just went 1mm longer with a spacer.

There are lighter axles but these a much cheaper solution for ~$US21 with taxes posted into Australia. Saved 60g and improved security/aero marginally.

Front 12x128 P1.5 here

Rear 12x171 P1.75 here
Do note the difference in thread pitch to front!

Spacer here (flat)

And because it's winter for most of you, here's some throwbacks to Australian winter spec out and about on different days. Before I changed the axles

Thanks, that sounds good! Will go for the GP5000 32s then.

32c GP5000s on 21mm internal rims shouId be fairly true to size.

I used 32c Gravelking slicks which, on 25mm internal LB WR38 wheels were 34.5mm WAM. Plenty of space and probably the perfect setup for Strade Bianche earlier this year.

I couldn't get them under mudguards for winter however so have switched to 30c Corsa N.ext which measure just over 32mm on the same rims and do just about fit.

Thanks for sharing your setups!
So 32C tire sizes should be no problem even if mounted on wider rims.

I currently also have mudguards (SKS Bluemels 45, which were a PITA to mount/install) and run 28C Conti 4Seasons on them. With mudguards I could definitely not go wider, on the rear mudguards, there is less than 1 cm distance to the tire and in autumn it sometimes catches wet leaves which get stuck between tire and mudguard.

How have people gone fitting aftermarket stems to the Caledonia 5? I just ordered the ex's aerover but I know the Cal has a D-ish shaped steerer with the curved recess for hoses. Is it better to get a 3D printed adapter to fill the gap or do people just run without?

You just use a regular round stem. This was approved by Cervelo when I spoke with them, and they do this themselves with the pro team.

Now with PDW fenders. It is a tight fit in the rear with 30mm tires.
