Hi!

Currently I have Scott Addict 2016 equipped with DA Di2 9000. Front 52/36 and rear 11-28. Now I want to change front chainring to 50/34.

Questions:
Is 50/34 front and 11-28 rear possible?
Do I have to shorten chain?
Do I have to adjust front derailleur?
Does Addict frame (derailleur hanger) allows 50/34? ...now all Addict-s have 52/36... Does derailleur hanger allows to "lower" front derailleur?

Thanks

The answer to all questions is yes. Regarding the chain the answer is maybe. Unless the chain is new it is worth replacing it with the rings.

Yes, chain is almost new... 200 miles. I will just shorten it.

So, with the frame (derailleur hanger) there will be not problems...it allows also 50/34?

Since you can only change chain length in 1” increments, whether or not you should shorten the chain by 2 links to switch from a 52 to a 50 depends on the chainstay length. Try the calculator here http://www.machinehead-software.co.uk/b ... hcalc.html

Now I have on bike 53 links. Calculator advised 54 links for 52-28

If I calculate with 50-28 it advised me 53 links. So this mean that I do not have to shorten chain?

Probably. You'll find out when you fit it anyway - no need to overanalyse beforehand :noidea:

yeah i wouldn't shorten it any further then, try it as is and just see how it works. getting technical about it, if the correct length with a 52t is something like 53.3 and the calculator recommends 54 links because it rounds up, you can get away with 53 links usually, sometimes big-big will be a bit too tight but it should work. But then going to 50T the correct length will be something like 52.8, if you go down to 52 links the difference will probably be too much.

I'll tell you tomorrow, how it was, when I change it.
