Hi,

need a little bit of advice... first time I was putting together a chain and I inserted the new pin just a little too far... (say 0.1 mm), so it is protruding... It does not seem to be interfering with anything (since I followed the Park Tool advice, I inserted the pin from the inside towards the outside, so the protrusion does not catch on the cassette or any other parts).

What should I do about it? Let it be? Remove the pin and insert a new one (or is that a big no no?) Drive it backwards slightly?

Thanks.

It was smart of you to push inside out for just this reason. If it is not causing any stiffness at that link, just leave it be. Or you could remove the whole thing and install a KMC Missing Link, which is what I do for Shimano chains anyway. You should be fine. Go ride!
