Yeah that’s the crux of it right there, there’s a lot of subterfuge when it comes to influencers promoting kit. Sometimes it obvious, like Flecha in his Rapha, but usually you have no idea, which is what makes it effective.

I work with 2 ex pro’s and I’m around quite a few. I’d put the knowledge of an average weight weenies forum member over most of them.
Some of the most knowledgable people are know are forum goers who work in shops and get the opportunity to ride lots of different bikes.
