The 3 set screws on the NDS spacer are for bearing preload adjustment.
My Tarmac disc is great

The screws are ugly though.. probably the part of the bike that was for me least well thought out/designed.

Wish they took the new StumpJumper route and gone back to easy/old fashioned threaded BB. Rather have external cups than those screws.
I do understand why they would keep the BB30 standard but could of been done better.

Pulled the trigger on this today. Build will be:

SL6 disc size 49
Roval CLX50
Conti GP4KS2 25mm
Aerofly 40mm
S-works SL stem 100mm
DSP 2.5
Full DA DI2 hydraulic 52/36 x 12/28
DA 9100 pedals
Ceramic Speed BB converter
SI SLR Kit Carbonio Flow S

I’m hoping it can sneak just below 7kg with this build but we shall see.

One question though - I am not sure if I should run a 140 rotor in front or 160? The spesh concept store I am getting this from tells me their complete disc builds are always 160 front and 140 rear.

But they also told me that some like me (165 height and 63kg weight) do 140 in front. I ride in a pretty flat country (Singapore) and most I ride with aren’t on discs - so I’m thinking I do 140 front and 140 rear. Looks symmetrical too. Thoughts?

Yepp for Singapore and your weight 140/140 would work.

cheers guys. will probably give the 140 in front a whirl. if i feel its not enough or it heats up too fast (my guess is no on both), then will switch to 160 further down. really looking forward to this rig.

Replace it with a spacer and a wave washer.

I always preferred this setup- Old style Specialzied bearing shields and a wavy washer.

Had a nice Anzac day ride at the gorges this last Wednesday.. First chance to test out the bike properly going up and down bigger inclines. As always my favourite ride in Sydney and only got better with this bike.

The weather wasn't great and really got to test the brakes in the wet and it was awesome.

Not just the brakes.. But the wheels too. Tracked and held speed so well. Was able to go so much faster with lesser effort on the rollers despite my conditioning not being all that great. Bombing down hills in the wet while not ideal showed what it is capable of. To be honest.. I'm looking for an excuse not to like the roval clx 50.. So far haven't found anything to complain about.

Probably will be getting a light set of tubs.. And most likely bora 35.

@sychen. I rode the gorges on ANZAC day too. A great test for the new bike, as you note. Performance was limited only by the rider's ability in my case! Zipp 202, which are my only disc wheels, were OK, although they don't provide the same 'rolling on rails' feel that my old non-disc CLX40s provided. I'm considering Bora 35 tubs, or a local wheel from Caden https://www.carbonbikewheels.com.au/en/

I have the same with my roval clx 32 disc vs bora 35 non disc on the "same" Addict frame : Bora is as on rails even with lots of wind, Roval is way more prone to all sort of wind gust's. I really don't know what role disc's play in this. I already created a topic on it ove here, with almost no usefull info. Good luck with it!! Please report back if you can test Bora disc wheels

I build my Tarmac Disc SL6 with Roval 32 clx clinchers and could not have been happier. I had the 50 clx on my SL5 tarmac and they were nice but I love the 1280 gram feel of these wheels. They are also available in a Tubular rim verson and I would highly recommend those over another wheelset.

Lol prawn could of been embrassed together by the old guys on steel bikes flying past us up the climbs.

Other wheels I'm considering besides bora is fse rims built by fwb.

Not considering another roval even though I like the clx50.

Definitely tubs.. Definitely in 1200g range or under..

Here is some shots from this morning... Getting cold in Sydney, Under 10deg Celsius.
