Worrying in what capacity? Were you worrying because you were close-hauled, beating into the wind and hoping to bear up a little more? Or were you worrying in a professional capacity? If the latter, what kind of professional capacity?


Both. Trying to get that last tenth of a knot/half a degree of point or whatever to hit target VMG for the windspeed and wave state. Which I was doing professionally..

Exploro. And looking for crankset recommendations. I like the idea of the Easton thing, being able to move to 1x easily if change mind. but its expensive and it looks like 172.5 is in short supply, at least with 2x ring setup.
I have specialized on my other bikes and prefer it.... but learly specialized aint gonna work for BB386 evo, but I need that elusive light/cheap choice that isn't shoddy.

It looks like hunting a K-force light bargain off ebay or go heavier with SRAM. Ive used sram cranks and they're fine but it wouldn't be particularly light.
Weight will be key as I had to go with the heavier team frame... that Ltd one is ... not priced for the middle class.

you can always remove the paint from your frame fork , but it will cancel warranty
and then just a little bit of varnish ...

Easton would be my choice too

Yeah, I had the same question the writer was left with, going to be interesting what ring sizes they pick. No doubt it will change a lot to suit terrain...

Haha, nice one... maybe I deserved that for paint lecturing ...but not varnish... clear gloss, semi-gloss or matte linear poly with UV protection etc. and uh... doubt that would get me 200gm. more like 20.

My last frame could already take 35mm tires although I rode 30s most of the time.

My upcoming build will use TPR 957 brakes, but there are a number of mid-reach brakes available from Shimano and other manufacturers.
