So I recently bought a Caad10 with the intention of stripping and repainting (has a rival shop's decals under clear coat). After building it up and washing it, I noticed a very small dent on the seat tube that seems like it was painted over (rough paint on dent). It is very small, and a local shop confirmed it shouldn't cause any problems. Pretty sure the seat tube doesn't see a lot of stress anyway. My question is, would stripping the paint from a dented frame pose any structural problems? Thinking of using some aircraft stripper then repainting matte black. Would like to hear opinions on whether stripping would be a problem. My gut says no, but I'm no expert. Also, if anyone can point me in the right direction as to threads dealing with stripping/repainting aluminum that would be appreciated. Thanks for the help!
