If you take a 27.2 Ti seat post. Cut it in half and use the bottom half.
Then take a 27.2 Glossy carbon seat post. (size as needed) then starting halfway down - sand around 1-2mm (as needed) off the outside so that the carbon fits snug into the Ti post. Epoxy as needed.
You would end up with a Ti seat post that inserts into the frame - extends up a bit - and then is carbon the rest of the way.
Has that been done by anyone here? (Or with carbon/steel/alloy etc)

Why did Control Tech make a carbon/Ti hybrid drop bar?
Doesn't matter to me- just makes me wonder if it's possible with a seat post.

as you describe it, i'd say not, removing that much cf from the post will weaken it, risking it snapping off at the top of the ti section
you could internally reinforce the cf above/below that area, i.e. with a snug fit cf tube epoxied into it, but after all that it'll be a pretty heavy post with far less flex than the original ti/cf posts
