Are there brake pads specifically designed for wet weather?
Moderator: robbosmans
Had a look around and didn't spot anything marketed specifically for the wet. Using stock Dura Ace brakes and the pads that come with them. Love them in the dry, but had my first soaking wet weather ride in them last Saturday and wasn't that happy with them. Aluminium rims too. Would happily trade off a little dry weather braking ability or even longevity for a compound that works better when wet.

Kool Stop "salmon" pads are often recommended for wet conditions, and they did work for me too.

I agree on the BXP pads. Personally, I think they offer the best balance between wet power and dry modulation. I find the KoolStop Salmons can feel a bit grabby in the dry. Though they are very good in the wet, and also a fair bit cheaper.
Another vote for Kool-Stop salmon pads. Phenomenal performance in dry and wet, all season long.
