I just impulse bought a 2015 Masi Gran Corsa, with 105 grouppo, deda cockpit, etc.

First thing I was about to upgrade was the wheelset, at first I thought it was just Masi's oem set.
But after doing some research, I found the Mercury S1 wheelset that comes with the bike was priced at $699. A surprise here.

I'm new here so never heard of this brand, is there any good? or better than those stock Shimano RS?
Opinion? Thanks.

Hi -- I have a set of M5 clinchers and they are solid, feel fast, roll well, and have been durable for the amount I've used them. I don't know if the hubs and spokes are the same as on the wheelset you're talking about, but the build quality has been good. The downside for me is that these are 50mm rims and as a fairly small and light rider (~64kg on a good week), I can get blown around a bit in a strong crosswind or gust. (I might be persuaded to sell my set and go for a shallower rim -- drop me a line.)

I'd be suspect of any company that says the front wheel weights as much as the rear.
