Hi all

Just building my new Cannondale Synapse Carbon with Sram Force and after trawling through lots of ebay ad for chinese disc wheels, they all see, to be coming in at 1630g plus which seems a tad on the heavy side. Build is still at 7.5kg as is with Ksyriums but dying to get it to sub 7.2kg if possible

Anyone know of anything sub 1600g in 38mm or similar?

My 38mm deep, 23mm wide Farsports are 1300g (FSL38-CM-23V-2016 rim). I upgraded the hubs from Novatec to EdHub but the CX-Rays spokes and alloy nipples were included in the base price. $600ish shipped.

Wow! will check those out now. Thanks

edit:

just checked on Farsports, and lightest option in 38mm seems to be 1554g

They don't seem to list a disc version of EdHub

Ah, when you said "disc" I thought you mistakenly meant deep aero rims. You meant disc brakes, like those found on mountain bikes. Disc brakes + aero + light = I don't know. You're fighting physics with that one.

Hmm... In my humble, you'll be lucky. Will you really notice those few extra grams? I doubt it, personally. However, I always thought that competition cycling was supposed to be about the fastest way of going forwards but now it seems that it's the world braking competition. Silly me. Must get with the times & change all my frames & wheelsets. I'm just not the hipster I used to be, I guess.

Sorry guys. Yes I'm looking for disc brake wheels as I cycle a lot around Richmond Park so have to have the latest thing, otherwise I'll get looked down upon.

There's nothing better than rocking an old steel heavy outdated bike and toasting everyone around. Who cares how you look if you don't have disc brakes? Pathetic reason to build a bike a certain way IMO...

Baixchaiang claims 1580g for 38mm 23mm wide for $400. I am probably going to buy a set. I have a set of rim brake wheels from them and have been happy

The prototype set for testing I am building up use a 26mm wide and 35mm deep tubeless compatible clincher rim and expected weight will be from 1410g with carbon Ti hubs but with DT swiss 350's weight will be 1510g. So it is possible.

A tubular rims will save alot of weight but there a few tubular disc brake rims. that market is a niche within a niche.
