Otherwise being a WW would be for the well off.

Thanks a lot
This is, what keeps me rolin...especialy since I can´t invest this kind of money into parts
Already I used this combo for nearly 200km. Nothing is broken till now, it doesnt make any noises and the flex is less then a F99
peel off
fresh shed
with some sanding
a friend had a nice idea...who discover it at first?

Any special reason that you maintains this steerer tube excess?

I just can´t decide to cut it off right now...this would be something final and I have no chance for changes anymore
I´m not sure, if my words about the amount of flex came out like it should be...there is no noticeable horizontal flex and even the torsion is ok for me. A Syntace F99 has more flex and is softer then this combo.
I know that the clamp position is not the best and that it is not as strong as a regular type of clamping a stem, but it holds the position on regular roads and riding. Also I can not rotate the combo on the steerer tube. On bumpy roads the headset loosen a little bit, but this is ok for me...the combo is not made for "Paris-Roubaix"

What type of tape are you using there?

When you've epoxied the carbon in place, do you just wrap that with the tape or do you have another layer inbetween to stop it sticking? This whole thread is making me what to have a go - very inspiring!
