Hi,
has anyone ever seen a Zipp SL Speed carbon fibre stem unpainted/stripped? It came painted in metallic black and I was wondering how the carbon looks underneath the paint. I would like to know if it is worth stripping this stem and clearcoat it for a stealth build I have in mind...
This is how it came (stock):

I like the look of these stems a lot, but you might as well strip it because once you install it, you WILL mar the finish. The angle of the bolts is such that there's no way to get an allen key on them without scratching it. I consider it a design flaw and refer to these stems as "self-marring." Rant over.
