Hi,
I have a 2009 Madone 6.9 and my only complaint is that it feels wobbly and unstable in steep descents, particularly in the corners and when braking. The bike is a 58 cm and I weigh about 165lbs. I replaced the Bontrager wheels with stiffer Mavic wheels, put on wider tires (700 x 25), and replaced the carbon drop bar with a stiffer FSA aluminum bar. All these changes helped a bit, but the bike still does not feel secure on steep downhills. So I'm wondering if replacing the fork with something stiffer (and/or with more rake) would improve stability. Any thoughts or recommendations on replacement forks? I'm thinking the 3T Funda, but I don't know if they can be adapted to fit a tapered head tube.
Thanks!

If you want more stable handling, you need less rake, not more. Don't confuse rake with head tube angle, they don't work the same way and handling is primarily determined by trail. Less rake will give more trail. More head tube angle will also yield more trail.
