Reading the posts above, can anyone confirm these stems are in fact 5mm longer than spec'ed? E.g. a marked 90mm is actually 95mm?

Yes, it is quite common for stems.

130mm (I have several) have been around 130mm, as expected.
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:

Great article, thanks! It seems +/- 3mm from the spec'ed length is common in the industry by nature of manufacturing, and +/- 5mm is possible for lower-end products.

Wow. I have a similar model, but at a 7 degree angle and 80mm, and it comes to 100g on the dot. I'm curious to know the reason for the huge disparity in weight.

I’ve seen that as well. It depends on which seller you buy from. I too also have a 85mm one that is same weight as my 110mm.

On mine the logos are all the same before I stripped it. Just from different sellers.

I’ve also observed slight differences in weight. I have the 100, 110, and 120mm stems. The 120 is lighter than the 110. Go figure. When I tap on the 120 it rings as if it’s thinner than the 110.

Are you guys with Ti bolts on the steerer clamp finding that it holds the steerer tightly? I have tried Ti bolts but find the headset eventually loosen over time. Put stainless bolts on and no slippage. I do use Ti bolts on the handlebar clamps and no issues there.

I use Ti bolt. But I also use carbon paste for the steerer section. My bars are Zipps so no paste there.

The only issue I had with gold bolts is it breaking when I torque it to 4.5nm. Could be my clicker type of torque wrench isn’t the most accurate. Now I just torque to 4nm and still no slip.

Mine was quite dry but now I have loads of carbon paste but I still prefer to stick with steel bolts.

Yeah I’ve also broken 4mm Ti bolts at around 4nm. That’s why I’m sticking with steel bolts for the steerer clamp. I bought an electronic torque meter that I use to calibrate my automotive torque wrench. I also use it to calibrate my bike torque wrench.
